This paragraph caught my eye:

Gids said less than half its patients were given blockers: “We do not hold a view on what the outcome will be for a child when they come in to the service. There is no pressure to provide medical intervention from the service, though there can often be from the young person or family.”

Is there any other medical field where the patient’s or family members’ views supersede a doctor’s judgement about the clinical necessity and/or appropriateness of treatment?

The Times, the Sunday Times and Andrew Gilligan are relentless in pursuing the abuses that are happening. And it means that fools like Penny Mordaunt, the Lib Dems etc will never be able to say that they didn't know how children were being harmed.

I never regret taking out a Times subscription (even if some of those below the line are very irritating).
