Here is Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion, Caroline Lucas, speaking at trans pride today.

She supports GRA reform, including the removal of medical gatekeeping. She talks about her constituents, who have told her how difficult the current process is.

What she doesn't mention are the constituents who have told her how concerned they are about single-sex provision of services and facilities, who are concerned about the cotton ceiling and the unquestioning affirmation if children and teens, among other things.

It's worth noting that one local school has at least 76 trans identifying children/teens (article below).

And our local rape crisis centre has adopted the TWAW mantra, which has caused great distress to many local, vulnerable women who have experienced sexual violence.

We're calling on Caroline Lucas to think seriously and critically about what she's saying, and the negative implications on vulnerable trans people, young people and women and girls.

There is myriad evidence that young people presenting as trans often have mental health issues or trauma. We're deeply concerned that the removal of medical gatekeeping will leave these youths vulnerable, and we'll see a wave of detransitioners in a few years, who will ask us why we didn't stop them.

We're also worried that self-id leaves women and girls vulnerable to men who will take advantage of the removal of boundaries. This is already happening, as many institutions have gotten 'ahead' of the law, and already allow self-id.

Caroline, if you're reading this, please listen to women

Jacky’s right. Politicians aren’t afraid of women. They take women’s votes for granted. The only way to change that is to target one to be voted out, and to be SEEN accomplishing that by other politicians.

It doesn’t matter so much who else gets voted in. What matters is that politicians understand women, constituting a very large voting bloc, have Archimedes’ lever in their hand and WILL use it.

Each time, I'm still taken aback, by how women who I thought were sensible, are 100% behind all this.

Quite. It horrifies me how many politicians are incapable of critical thinking.
And what the hell has happened to the Green Party? They have something about the 'stigmatisation of aromantic people' in their manifesto but don't seem to give a fuck about safeguarding women's rights. I wouldn't trust them with the environment (not least because I know quite a few local Green activists, and their grasp of environmental issues is, let's say inconsistent), and don't see any other reason to vote for them. More and more MPs are clued up on environmental issues, the Greens can become the PoMo Genderists and Fetish Alliance and sink into oblivion for all I care.

I cant believe that she is still mindlessly repeating the TWAW mantra - after being added to a blocklist, after hearing women's concerns, after watching the GP being captured by Aimee & co. So disappointed in her.

The only conclusion I can come to is that they are both in postions of privilege and earn six figure salaries (expenses, public speaking fees, television fees, newspaper articles and 'Consultancy' services. They are massively insulated from reality.

Also, politicians are not exactly known for critical thinking, integrity and consistency. They'll do pretty much anything to maintain their postion including fucking over the entire country.

A more serious question for the Green parties is that if they insist on sticking to a position on transgenderism that everyone can see is utter nonsense – then why should people believe what they say about climate change? If they lie about this, how do we know they're not lying about that?

Carolyn has spoken women across the board as well as the local women's shelter and having done that is able to support GRA reform. I think she made a lovely speech and I urge you all to put in the work she has to fully understand the issues.

Vicky, I'm sure her "lovely speech" will really warm the hearts of the women and girls being thrown under a bus by self Id . In fact the women who are currently being dragged through court case by a transwoman claiming his human rights are being denied because they won't wax his genetalia would surely be relieved to hear Carolyn's "lovely" words.

Maybe you might like to "put in the work to fully understand the issues" on why the GRA will negatively effect the safety of females before coming on here patronising women who have spent years following this?

I'll give Caroline Lucas major chops for picking a side and saying what it is in public. Something the Women's Equality Party has collectively proved itself unable to do. And there are lots of women who disagree with the gender critical view, so saying 'you'll lose women's votes' is not true. Nothing in politics is that simple.

Having said that, I think she is dramatically wrong. And I agree entirely that it makes the Green Party look like a party for fluffy non thinkers, rather than the scientifically rational choice in the new age of mass extinction. It's a choice that genuinely endangers women and children and is ecologically unsound if it leads to even more global reliance on hormone use in the ecosystem, never mind further castration, hysterdctomies and mastectomies on healthy bodies, requiring extensive antibiotic use.

Vicky - Caroline may well of spoken to women "across the board" but she damn well hasn't listened to thing she's heard other than those voices advocating for the rights of men over women.

So she can frankly make as many "lovely" speeches as she likes and you can post about them to your hearts content but don't expect any of us who've actually done our homework on this issue to swallow your patronising piffle.

We're watching the affect of a few law changes in Canada play out right now.

A transwoman with male genitalia is taking multiple women to court, because they think that women should be forced to wax male genitalia just because the owner of the male genitalia "identifies as a woman."

So, I don't care whether these males, these owners of male genitalia, call themselves trans women, or women with a trans history - whether they chant TWAW at me 24/7 - or whatever - transwomen are not women.

Caroline Lucas has ignored the women with concerns about self ID and the amendment to the GRA - and decided to throw her energies in with the men who identify as women instead.

As far as I'm aware, she never did meet with WPUK. I can only find "plans" to meet them womansplaceuk.org/wpuk-meeting-with-green-party/ and nothing further.

I would be surprised if she actually believes it, it's probably what she thinks is a pragmatic approach to not losing the only Green seat in the UK. It needs a wider change within the GP leadership and policy I expect before she says anything different.

I agree with people saying CL knows that TWAW is wrong but is saying this in order to keep the Seat in the Parliament.

But if women keep pushing other women under the bus - for the sake of being the Single Green MP / Climate Change / Children's Poverty / Being nice to the pain of Trans people - take your pick

A High Profile Women is Required in British Politics to Die On This Hill (if required) for the sake of All Women in this Country.

If she declares Loud and Proud that Trans Women are Men and she gets deselected to stand as the Next Green Party Brighton Candidate, I think she can still stand as an Independent Candidate for Green Values and Women - I think she can get elected as this type of Candidate and keep the seat.

You never know she might be remembered as the one who called out the Emperor's New Cloths!

I am desperately trying to believe that neither C Lucas or J Swinson have actually looked beyond the surface. When someone comes along and tell you really nasty people are denying their right to exists, it's hard not to be sympathetic. And when the reality of the situation is so bonkers it doesn't even sound believable, again it is easy to believe the poor beleaguered trans person just trying to pee in peace, because nobody would ever want such nutso nonsense. Would they?

God, even I can't make myself swallow that. I give up.

As a prominent Green in the EU I have never heard her call out the horrendously wasteful carbon-busting shunting between Strasbourg and Brussels.
Her confused, virtue signalling attitude to proting trans male rights at the expense of women's rights comes as no surprise.

Like most Mothers / Wives / Sisters who do not feel able to challenge the men in their lives using Porn, these Women Politicians do not feel able to challenge all their men in Politics, who use Gender Ideology (The Trans Movement Edifice is based on Misogyny) to keep women in their place.

All women - whether they are in a Muslim Family in Tower Hamlets or a privileged MP in Brighton are still are living The Umbrella of Patriarchy.

The Difference is that the MP is only risking a Seat in Brighton not her life if she goes against the Men around Her.
