I used to loathe netball at school but I am really enjoying watching the world cup and especially England. It is great to watch women who are so good at what they do. May the best team win - come on you Roses!

Bummer. NZ played well. I'm a bit deflated.

The accuracy of the shooting made all the difference, especially early on in the game. England did so well to battle and take it as close as they did. What a frantic match!

England V South Africa tomorrow .. for the chance to win the Bronze Medal.

Can't be in the Olympics because it's single sex, apparently.

Where that leaves synchronised drowning and twirly ribbons & bouncy balls gymnastics, I'm sure I don't know.

It was a great game and the final will be phenomenal @MockerstheFeManist I think the main reason it's not in the olympics is that it's largely only played on commonwealth countries.

Yes it's also single sex (which is one thing I love about it), which would affect it being introduced. New sports are introduced by host countries I think, and probably do need to be both sexes or an equivalent (men do fancy horse and ring gymnastics instead of rhythmic). And I would not want men to start playing netball. That's worth it not being an Olympic sport in my book!

Problem is the Olympics already has handball and basketball, and there's only so many variations the IOC will accomodate.

Heard Liz Nichol talking about offering a mixed fives game to the IOC but the open secret is US TV money dictates what gets in, e.g, breakdancing and surfing, but not squash.
