This makes me so fucking sad.

MorrisZapp · 18/07/2019 22:41

Mind bogglingly depraved. He will live in shame for the rest of his life.

Ereshkigal · 18/07/2019 22:43

This is a genuine question - have so many men always been this fucked up and sex mad and we've just found out about it, or have they suddenly got totally obsessed with sex, totally unable to control their impulses, totally self-obsessed and totally unprofessional. The onslaught of inappopriateness and screwed thinking just feels relentless lately.

It really is a good question.

On what planet could anyone ever think a) that it was anything other than a horrible sickening thing to do, and b) they would get away with it?

Easier access than there was years ago probably doesn't help.

SarahTancredi · 18/07/2019 22:50

Disgusting.

Of all.people the family should have been able to trust a police officer in their home.

And as for the child being there... how disrespectful. Just how could a person do that SadAngry

Rocaille · 18/07/2019 22:52

He will live in shame for the rest of his life.

I hope so. But I bet he won't.

Likeazombi · 18/07/2019 22:57

He bloody should live in shame for the rest of his life, disgusting piece of shit that he is.
I'm so fucking sick of men.
That poor family and poor child.

Sarcelle · 18/07/2019 23:04

I doubt he will live in shame. That would be a normal reaction. This sleazebag is far from normal, he can't possibly be.

The older I get the more I think men are utterly ridiculous and hung up on a their flappy appendages.

Gingerkittykat · 19/07/2019 00:04

What do they mean by restricted duties? Surely any police officer waiting for trial for fraud should be suspended?

Sickening betrayal of a grieving family.

Macareaux · 19/07/2019 07:12

One assumes if he had accessed it on his laptop and wanked away that would have been ok. It's just the £26. I suppose fraud is the only law he can be charged with but personally I don't give a stuff about the £26. Since discovering recently about men wanking in toilets (given the push to mixed sex loos) I really am struggling to have any faith in that half of the species.

I think human sexuality is pretty mutable in a lot of ways. If people learn something is normal, it seems normal to them. Which isn't inevitably a bad thing, it makes us flexible. But it can also end up normalising some crazy stuff, if you don't set clear limits.

Some people are also so clueless about what is appropriate it seems unbelivable. I worked with an officer in the military who kept doing things that seemed completely bad judgement. On the surface there wasn't anything wrong with him, he had managed to get a university degree. The final straw when he was away from home for several months working, and his wife came to visit at a hotel off base. It happened to be when he was on duty through the night, but he met her at the hotel anyway. He just thought it would be ok, since she was his wife and they'd not been married long and all. After that he was fired. Too clueless.

Goosefoot · 19/07/2019 07:34

I don't think men always watch porn to masturbate. I'm not sure what the appeal is otherwise because its not like it's got much plot or anything, but from hearing men talk about it, it seems like it's not inevitable. Even not in a group.

Bezalelle · 19/07/2019 08:50

Despicable.

Voice0fReason · 19/07/2019 23:22

What is wrong with men like this?
Was he bored whilst waiting for the undertaker so needed something to do to pass the time?
Truly revolting behaviour.

failingatlife · 19/07/2019 23:56

What kind of depraved fucker gets horny while attending the death of a young child in a professional capacity? He is one sick man, the fraud is the least of the issues here. He has totally disrespected that child and their family and abused his position as a police officer. Hope he goes to prison. As if the grieving family don't have enough to cope with.

LassOfFyvie · 20/07/2019 00:00

Just seconding everyone.

failingatlife · 20/07/2019 00:02

What the fuck is wrong with these men? Can’t they go half a fucking hour without needing a wank?

Seems to be an obsession for some. Fell down an Internet rabbit hole recently and came across this article about 'Seatles premier mens jack off club.' It's gross
🤮🤮🤮 You have been warned.

LassOfFyvie · 20/07/2019 00:06

What is wrong with men like this?

Way back in the dawn of t'internet one of the big insurance companies sacked a male employee for watching porn on their computer in their time. Instead of crawling under a stone never to be heard of again he took them to an employment tribunal and won because they had not specified in their internet use policy that employees should not watch porn on office computers.

Really? Does anyone need to be told that? I mean really- when I first got a computer at work I asked permission to use it to book flights as I didn't have a home pc at the time.

Sarcelle · 20/07/2019 07:28

Watching porn at work, do you think the possibility of them getting caught gives them an added frisson? It is bizarre.

ZebrasAreBras · 20/07/2019 09:34

youkiddingme I would love an answer to that question.

I suspect the answer is "yes" they've always been obsessed with sex - but that the obsession was kept under wraps more.

The total availability with online porn has shifted something in society.

I grew up in the 70s - when porn was magazines of vhs videotapes. There was a reputation of them being "under the counter" and "top shelf" and "carried in brown paper bags" by men wearing macs.

I remember schoolboys crowding around a boy who had maybe managed to nick one his dad's porno mags, and brought it into school.

I remember my friend showing me her dad's stash of magazines in the bathroom cupboard.

Things are so, so different now. It is not something men need to feel they have hide away now - we're not allowed to "kink shame" now for some reason - and similarly, I don't think men are remotely ashamed of watching porn either. And porn constantly pushes the boundaries - more explicit, more extreme - I agree it's a complete shift of the overton window.

castlecutie · 20/07/2019 09:37

what the fuck have i just read? what the hell is wrong with him? ugh, words fail me
