Libfems on twitter blame terfs when butch lesbians get asked to leave female bathrooms

I've seen a few reports online that butch lesbians are starting to get questioned when they try to use women's facilities. And incredibly, anti-feminist women on twitter are blaming this on...terfs!

Of course they are. Terfs are always to blame for everything apparently.

It's like these people have a complete inability to use critical thinking skills. For example:

  1. For years, nobody had a problem with butch lesbians and they happily used female bathrooms with no problem.
  2. Transgender ideology starts to get taught in schools, colleges, universities and pushed across certain media outlets and is even found on training and diversity days in workplaces.
  3. Transgender ideology takes hold and people start to believe that 'feminine' males are 'really women' and 'masculine females' are 'really men.'
  4. Butch lesbians, being gender non conforming, are now assumed to 'really be men' since they don't like pink and having long hair etc.
  5. Butch lesbians start getting questioned in female toilets etc and even kicked out (according to anecdotal reports online)
  6. TRAs and liberal feminists on twitter blame this on....not transgender ideology, but terfs!

I think it's a really good example of how they do mental gymnastics in order to blame everything on terfs when they are directly responsible. I think it falls under yet another DARVO tactic.

Oh fuck off with this shit.
As a tall, broad woman, since my late 30s I have not fit in to 'looking like a woman' but I have NEVER been looked at or commented on in the ladies.

Its only since all this shit took off with men trying to get access to womens spaces that it has even been an issue.

I wish there was some sort of clothing I could get that identified me specifically as a biological female, a kind of t shirt maybe?

TalkingintheDark · 19/07/2019 17:04

Before self ID became a thing, if I were in a women's bathroom I just wouldn't expect there to be men there. If I saw a woman who looked slightly masculine I'd assume she was just a masculine-looking woman. Someone would really have to be very obviously male before it would occur to me that they might really be male, because it would just be so unlikely that a man would be there.

Now, the chance that there is a male person in women's bathrooms is much higher. So I'd be less likely to think 'Nah, can't be'. I don't think that's a result of gender critical women, it's a result of 'trans visibility', which ironically is something libfems are quite devoted to.

My thoughts exactly, Mermoose.

*Whatisthisfuckery

I am both a ‘terf’ and a butch lesbian. Last weekend alone I threw myself out of two womens’ toilets, the second quite aggressively. I was really bursting as well.*

Grin brilliant!

Seriously butch lesbians and TW are nothing alike in my experience. I might double take on both but for different reasons.

Being mistaken for a man isn't the slur they think it is.
It simply doesn't offend.

The worst it gets if they say your makeup makes you look like a drag queen. But that's a different insult isn't it.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/07/2019 17:32

Me me! Hand up hand up! I know the answer to this one!

It’s all a big stinky lie. Women can tell the difference between and man and a woman even a really masculine looking one) 99.9% of the time. The worst would be a woman doing a double take. I smell burning pants.

WrathofStrawberryWhittleKlop · 19/07/2019 17:43

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD

Not only can we tell the difference, we are polite and courteous not to make a fuss.

Not any more.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/07/2019 17:45

The older I get, the less mimsyish I get. I haven’t the patience these days for nonsense.

WrathofStrawberryWhittleKlop · 19/07/2019 17:49

I don't know why it took me so long.
My eyes have been opened.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/07/2019 17:51

And that’s why we don’t bloody care that they don’t like us. We see them...

My guess would be that if this is really on the increase, it is because women are just less sure about who is in their bathrooms, and feel the need to set some boundaries. I think the thing to remember might be that many of them actually don't have much experience trying to differentiate with people taking hormones or having surgeries, so they don't feel like they can rely on their intuition.

But really I am somewhat doubtful that this is happening in large numbers. I am sure it happens occasionally, over the years I have met the odd women I thought at first might be a man. It's not usual but it isn't unheard of, especially as women get into their 50s. So perhaps it happens a bit more often now, but I can't imagine that it is a huge bunch of people.

I think also in the past, if people were really unsure, they didn't say anything, as making an error fees so embarrassing for everyone. But people are feeling defensive.

ChiaraRimini · 19/07/2019 17:59

It's not women, TERFs or otherwise, that are threatening women.
It's men, specifically men invading women's spaces, that anyone is objecting to.
I wouldn't GAF if someone mistook me for a bloke in the loos in error. Strangely though although I often wear checked shirts jeans and trainers it's never happened. That would be because we can tell the difference!

WrathofStrawberryWhittleKlop · 19/07/2019 18:00

I doubt that any butch women has actually been asked to leave the ladies.

TeaKettleBell · 19/07/2019 18:07

There was a thread on twitter a few days ago where a woman blamed terfs for her ‘butch’ wife being shouted at in the women’s toilet.
Pretty sure Mumsnet came up.
The poor wife wears a badge saying ‘I’m a girl’.

TeaKettleBell · 19/07/2019 18:08

Mumsnet is a hotbed of horrible terfs apparently.
I mean really.

PancakeAndKeith · 19/07/2019 18:12

Women can spot if someone is a man or a woman. We can. It’s in built.
Humans are very good at spotting danger. If you are a woman then unknown men equals danger.
That’s why we can tell men from women.

I’ve never thought a butch lesbian was a man.

PancakeAndKeith · 19/07/2019 18:13

The poor wife wears a badge saying ‘I’m a girl’

Ah but is she the cunty kind of girl?

Whatisthisfuckery · 19/07/2019 18:30

I get missexed, occasionally, genuinely I mean. It’s pretty obvious I’m not a fella but it does happen. Normally it’s just a case of, ‘hello sir... Sorry, madam’ and a bit of embarrassment.

I do get called a man/fella/chap quite often, every week in fact. It’s always by men and it’s never unintentional. There was a bus driver on our rout for a while who called me sir every single time I got on his bus, despite being clearly female, being 5 feet 2 and having huge tits, and having heard my voice and DS call me mum numerous times.

Homophobes gonna be homophobic and certain handmaidenly little libfems who don’t want to be seen to be homophobic gonna project their homophobia onto others. ’Twas ever thus.

Goosefoot · 19/07/2019 19:26

Women can spot if someone is a man or a woman. We can. It’s in built.

All people are good at it, but it does happen.

It's trickier now, though, with people making body modifications.

S1naidSucks · 19/07/2019 20:05

I’m more offended that she’s married to a girl! What country did they get married in? After all, only grown women can get married here.
