I just saw this, my heart just breaks for this woman and I am so angry. I don’t understand how he can only be given a suspended sentence especially given what her son say’s about the physical abuse his mother most likely endured. Just feel sick.

Men's war on women.

There are many casualties and victims.

The articles suggest she was a vulnerable woman who was also suffering domestic abuse (according to her son). How would someone who is being abused be in a fit state to give consent.

If you are with a man who you are fearful of are you giving genuine consent all the time? We know what women end up doing “be nice to the random bloke who’s talking to me in case I get assaulted, do exactly what my abusive partner say’s to try to avoid a beating”. Who would knowingly consent to this level of brutality. If he had held a stranger down and done this he would be in prison, but if you do it to a woman you are in a relationship with it’s fine.

Good point about drink or drugs.

It is just heartbreaking.

If he'd held down a stranger and done it, he'd probably still argue she consented, and some would probably believe him. Nothing surprises me nowadays.

That men can argue "consent" in court is the biggest trick the patriarchy ever played on women. The magic word "consent" is a get out of jail free card for men. We're expected to believe that women freely consent to this stuff, without some level of coercion? Just no.

I see no reason why there could not be strict liability here. It's not the norm to die whilst having sex. I appreciate that occasionally a person could have a heart attack or a stroke during sex but that's quite different.

But setting that aside, why not have strict liability death occurring during any sexual activity involving the penetration of a person by anything other than their partner's body, or the application of any gag or restraint, is culpable homicide /manslaughter (depending on the jurisdiction)

GirlDownUnder · 19/07/2019 02:55

I'm gob smacked that the reporter, Kathryn Quinn, wrote these two sentences together!

Ralph Jankus, 52, and his wife Christel, 49, enjoyed a mammoth two-day sex session just days after their wedding.

The victim suffered severe internal injuries after a sharp object was allegedly inserted into her.

TheRedBarrows · 19/07/2019 09:30

So.
Insert a barbed hook into a ‘consenting ‘ (sic) person’s body and surprise surprise they die: they consented so suspended sentence.

Assist a terminally ill person begging for a humane death in self euthanasia : you will go to prison.

TheRedBarrows · 19/07/2019 09:32

I know, GirlDownUnder , that struck me. ‘Enjoyed’ ? Who says? How can she , as a reporter, say?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 19/07/2019 09:34

Yes the “enjoyed” astounded me too. How could she have written that word in that context?

WomanDaresTo · 19/07/2019 20:13

Hello - I am so sickened by this. I think Germany has even bigger problems than the UK with ludicrously light sentencing for "negligent" "accidental" deaths of women and girls.

I'm so enraged i think I'm going to pull together a We Can't Consent To This for Germany - if any of you are there, would you mind searching your local news website for sexspielen and the like, and let me know if you find any of these cases?

Thank you

bobstersmum · 19/07/2019 20:35

I understand that people do weird shit in sex, but can someone tell me why you'd insert a barbed hook into someone's body, knowing it would rip and tear them to pieces, is this a thing?

Fraggling · 19/07/2019 20:40

Yes it's a sadistic murder thing.

7Days · 19/07/2019 20:50

I wonder were there any assets involved that would automatically go to a husband rather than a partner.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 19/07/2019 20:57

Yes, it’s a woman hating, not seeing them as people but as objects to do as you please with/to thing.

TheRedBarrows · 19/07/2019 22:44

The whole thing just beggars belief.

A light suspended sentence for manslaughter because she allegedly consented. But what does anyone think is going to happen if you push a barbed hook into someone’s colon? It is 100% obvious that horrific damage will result. He chose to do that knowing that catastrophic damage would result. It wasn’t an accident, he did it deliberately.

Honestly , I always argue against revenge and violent retribution but I hope someone puts a barbed hook up his arse. And that of the judge.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 19/07/2019 22:52

I’m a bit confused. The forensic report doesn’t seem to know what item was actually used which suggests he had both withheld that information and gotten rid of the item itself before the police got involved. That’s not at all suspicious. Hmm

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/07/2019 22:21

I honestly think about this poor woman every day...

Bless her heart. Thanks
