I had a look but can't see an existing thread...?

Anyone else watching/watched it? I found it interesting in Ep1 how pro-porn all of those interviewed were, but that the programmes commentator did not seem to be buying it at all. And the one director was very openly disenfranchised (right word?) with the whole thing!

I saw Gail Dines say she has been interviewed for the series, so I'm looking forward to seeing her contribution.

Interesting, not seen it, will definitely watch. Just been commenting on a post over on the relationship board about porn. I am gob smacked at the dissonance of people about the harm it does.

Im watching the second one. It was sad to hear that Gia sees the porn world as reclaiming her sexuality after being sexually harassed and assaulted at high school.

Lydia having to police and micro manage her husbands "addiction"

More mental load for her then.

Helena - this is not unusual in this pornified culture where women and young girls are so, so sexualised.

I haven't watched Generation Porn - it sounds interesting. Every programme I've ever watched about porn, I have found stomach churning. I remember "Date My Pornstar" on C4 - despite the dodgy title, was enlightening (not in a good way).

The porn addicts start off thinking about how fab & glamorous porn is, and seem to have little shame on being addicted to it - see it as a totally normal thing. They soon see the realities of the industry, the humanity of the pornstars, and the harm that the industry does to them.

Do check out Episode 3 of Generation Porn on Channel 4 this Wednesday at 10.35pm to see what I and my startup MakeLoveNotPorn - 'Pro-sex. Pro-porn. Pro-knowing the difference' - are doing to help solve this. More about why we're the world's first (and only) social sex videosharing platform here, working to promote consent, communication, good sexual values and good sexual behavior: socialsexrevolution.com/

I suspect its a bit like gambling addiction. People don't realise at first that they are addicted, but that's what happens pretty quickly. then all the justifications and behaviours that go to work in addicts become a factor.

Well done @cindygallop, just on episode 3 now.

The sad aspect of episode 2, well it was all sad but especially seeing Gia go from enthusiastic "pornstar" to disillusioned, unhappy girl with terrible internal injuries. It was so predictable. The industry gets through the youngest girls it can find then discards them. Who stays around when a job hazard is a torn cervix? WTF.
