You can add us to the list of feminists suspended from Twitter. Our tweet was in response to Mhairi Black's misogynist tweets about women who object to the colonisation of our sex.

We don't believe that the truth is hateful, and will appeal our suspension. Twitter allows us to connect with our networks and tell people what's going on, it's the modern public square.

Twitter, Facebook, YouTube et al have immense power, they get to shape the narrative by deciding who gets to share their views, and who doesn't. But, they aren't omnipotent. We will organise and build our movement. We'll do whatever we have to in order to keep spreading our message of women's liberation. Women were doing this long before Twitter, and we'll be doing it long after. Twitter can't stop us.

Unbelievable that you can banned from twitter for stating a statistical fact, which can be backed up with evidence.

Other women have been banned from twitter for saying:

• Men are more violent.

• Only males can rape, in UK law you have to have a penis to commit rape.

There is something deeply rotten about Twitter. And Facebook. I don't think it's hyperbole to say we should be worried - it is such a powerful platform - Twitter & FB are shaping society. Affecting the outcome of elections.

If it comes down to it, we can organise a movement to get millions of women off twitter and onto women controlled platforms. Half the world's population are female.
