Our rights have come a long way but the more homosexuality is associated with fetishes the more likely it is we (LGB, and T) will come under attack again.

This is sadly already happening in the US where the percentage of 18-34 year olds comfortable around LGBAlphabetsoup people has dropped to just 45%.

And I'm pretty damn sure that wouldn't be the case had the acronym remained just LGB.

Aspley · 07/07/2019 14:12

It is all so infuriating. This didn't have to happen we were finally gaining acceptance, now what?
What are the LGBT charities thinking?
"Acceptance without exception"
No.

TimeLady · 07/07/2019 14:28

Maybe the board members of the main sponsors should be sent these MSM fetish photos, alongside a succinct/ non-hyped description of what that fetish actually entails, and asking them if this lifestyle choice is something they want their brand to be associated with?

Deliriumoftheendless · 07/07/2019 14:34

Well it’s not a problem if Pampers and Pedigree Chum are sponsoring them, is it?

WeWantJustice · 07/07/2019 14:40

It's a fetish fest innit. Fun for all the family

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/07/2019 14:47

This is what the NSPCC has to say on the subject of adults dressing up as children:

learning.nspcc.org.uk/media/1194/online-child-sexual-abuse-images.pdf

As a society, we cannot tolerate adults engaging in role play as children for the sexual gratification of other adults

I have submitted a complaint to the BBC on this basis

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/07/2019 14:49

I kind of like that picture of the 3 guys in pink jock straps, although marching in those shoes seems unwise

NeurotrashWarrior · 07/07/2019 14:59

Well it’s not a problem if Pampers and Pedigree Chum are sponsoring them, is it?

I did have a chuckle at that!

WeWantJustice · 07/07/2019 15:01

Ah, so much dignity

LOL Blacks, I quite like the pink jock strap boys too, I just don't think they should be part of a supposedly family friendly public parade.

There was a thread a while back about taking children to Pride and I've said it's never even occurred to me to do that, precisely because of stuff like this. If the organisers want it to be family friendly, then that aggressive male sexual display has to go and FGS the furries, rubber fetishists and dog masks need to be arrested, just as they would on any other day. Pride can't have it both ways, it's either a sexualised event where everyone's kink is on display (whether they're gay or straight, it seems) or it's one suitable for children.

Someone's chosen a photo with a visible sign saying "Get the Terfs out" in this piece.

I'm trying to read what the other, grey sign, is. Does that say "Trans Dykes are good & pure"?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/07/2019 15:11

Yes, I just would never take my DC to pride, it seems a daft thing to do to me, but I wouldn't be mortified if they saw the pink jock strap guys in the flesh, in the way I;d be mortified if they saw the adult babies, furries, or puppy play types

I wonder why that is?

Deliriumoftheendless · 07/07/2019 15:20

Thank you Neurotrash

Marmozet · 07/07/2019 15:29

Lmao at all of you getting upset over this photo. They aren't hurting anyone and you don't even know the context behind it! 😂😂😂

Jellylegsni · 07/07/2019 15:29

What would the BBC do though? They were taking photos of people at a public event. Perhaps a bit of sunlight is the best disinfectant in this case...

I think for me the main issue is that the image is presented uncritically in what is supposed to be a celebratory piece about Pride. It's not that this is being shown, it's the context it's shown in.

Jellylegsni · 07/07/2019 15:44

Marmozet if you think a fetish that sexualises children hurts nobody then you're either ignorant or deluded.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 07/07/2019 15:48

Lmao at all of you getting upset over this photo. They aren't hurting anyone and you don't even know the context behind it!

I have no objection to people enjoying kinks in private. But they have no place in public spaces. People indulging their kinks in public are using the onlookers as props in their arousal. Their exhibitionism relies on the audience of unwitting bystanders. Gross.

Aspley · 07/07/2019 15:48

Of course @Marmozet there is 100% nothing at all wrong with men in their 50's dressing up as pre-pubescent girls, complete with dummies.
Nothing wrong with it at all. Just us silly prudes getting upset over nothing.

NeurotrashWarrior · 07/07/2019 15:51

So context?

Little Britain re make?

CaptainBrickbeard · 07/07/2019 15:54

I don’t understand how the concept of kink shaming has taken hold - why aren’t these men ashamed of displaying their fetish in public? Shame serves an important function in a civilised society - we don’t want to do away with it! No one should be ashamed of being gay, lesbian, bisexual etc. People should be ashamed of bringing their sex lives out in public whether straight or gay!

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/07/2019 15:58

I assume all the hangovers from yesterday are wearing off. I wondered where all the people who want to convince us that we're dried up old prudes were!

OrchidInTheSun · 07/07/2019 16:05

Years ago, some utter knot head expressed concern at me allowing my kids to have sleepovers with my gay BIL and his partner.

I obviously told him that gay men weren't paedophiles and I had no more concern about them looking after the kids than straight relatives.

This sort of shit is exactly the sort of thing those homophobic bigots are thinking of.

And if this is what Pride is about nowadays, what the fuck is all the corporate sponsorship about?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/07/2019 16:09

I am agog at the context behind the adult babies that's going to make it all fine though

come back Marmozet and educate us!

AlwaysComingHome · 07/07/2019 16:19

They aren't hurting anyone and you don't even know the context behind it!

Contextualise it for me.

AlwaysComingHome · 07/07/2019 16:20

For contrast.

NeurotrashWarrior · 07/07/2019 16:24

By the way, I hope the furries realise their 'fun fur' is polluting the seas and food chain with micro plastics.
