Is anyone going to the RadFem Collective Theory Conference in London? I am considering going, just weighing up cost of getting there and accommodation. Is there a mumsnet meet up organised?

Ooh have you got a link? I doubt I could make it due to childcare but would be interested to know more.

This looks amazing. I'll be in London then so I should go. It's a pity I didn't find it earlier or I might have come up with an idea for a paper.

jennymanara · 06/07/2019 00:30

Sorry didn't post dates or link in title. They have a creche.
So is anyone actually going?

Sorry Spartacus I missed that you said you were going. Will report it to MN.
Yes theory is just another word for ideas. Maybe they should have called it a different name?

There is a creche, so childcare issues hopefully won't be a barrier. I'm going, but working in the creche so won't actually be there as it were. I don't feel like I'm remotely knowledgeable enough to take part in any discussions that occur, all I know is I have a daughter who will be stumbling into adulthood while all this bullshit goes on around her. I've volunteered to work in the creche because I know childcare is a genuine issue for many women, and I'd like to do as much as I can to enable as many women as possible to attend.

jennymanara · 06/07/2019 15:59

Surely you don't have to take part in the discussions? I was thinking of going and just listening. I may not understand everything, but I am sure I will understand some of it.

Mitebiteatnite · 06/07/2019 16:07

Oh no, of course you don't. I just feel like I could be of more use doing the thing I'm actually qualified to do, and enable other women to attend!

I’d think about going but I can’t get into London that early.

Mitebiteatnite · 11/07/2019 10:15

Just bumping this because we're trying to promote the creche a bit! Please don't let childcare be a barrier to coming along!
I'll be travelling down from Colchester on the train if anyone would like company for the journey too Grin

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 11/07/2019 10:25

Isn't this the same weekend as Filia?

Going to be spoilt for choice!

Mitebiteatnite · 11/07/2019 10:34

I thought FILIA was in October?

I'll be there. Also helping in the creche rather than participating but really excited to be part of it.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 12/07/2019 10:58

Ah. My mistake, sorry!

spinninghag · 15/08/2019 22:43

Bumping this - event coming up soon! Unfortunately I can't make it... looks so interesting.
