Press photographers banned from pride because of last year’s Get The L Out protest

Pride London have banned photographers, apart from their own self-appointed ones, from covering Pride.

There is a long discussion about this, with the usual woke bro comments, on the NUJ’s FB page which I can’t c&p for privacy reasons but the gist seems to be that no non-pride photographers will be allowed inside cordons, including many gay, lesbian and bi photographers because of the ‘incursions’ last year.

One of the photographers says “You cannot deny press freedom because it interferes with your corporate image.”

There is a response from the NUJ here www.nuj.org.uk/news/the-nuj-expresses-disappointment-at-pride-in-londons-treatment/

"fuck terfs" banners at Pride....

Just going to point out to anyone of interest reading this.
"Terf" is the abusive homophobic sure used directly against lesbians who state they sexually reject someone with a penis
Let me repeat that for clarity. London London Pride are allowing homophobia against homosexual females. They think banners with homophobic slurs are ok - just so long as they target the "wrong" sort of lesbian.
Ask yourselves.
Do you really think lesbians should have to seriously consider people with penises, and if they say no, should lesbians be called abusive names?

blueiris71 · 06/07/2019 18:16

yep, it's happening in plain sight ,with Sadiq Khan cheerfully mingling alongside the fetishists and the BDSM crowd and the FUCK TERF banners without a care in the world

Aspley · 06/07/2019 18:24

Jeez, they even let the furries in, wtf have furries got to do with LGBT?

A question to other lesbians on the board, even without the "ffk terfs" banners do you think Pride represents you in any way?
I have zero in common with any of the people pictured in the reports I have seen.

Manderleyagain · 06/07/2019 18:25

That libdem mep! I don't know what to say.
I wonder how she would describe what puppy play is, and explain why it should be included.

umbel · 06/07/2019 18:44

(Aspley) My wife and I regularly used to take our kids. Not any more. Particularly not with a GNC son.

Floomph · 06/07/2019 18:52

How in god's name do people not see the pup movement and want to move very far away from it? I really don't recommend searching #pup on Twitter, but the briefest look at it shows you what kind of movement this is

AnyOldPrion · 06/07/2019 19:37

My first question would also be "what are they trying to hide.”

My first (and rather depressing) thought was that it’s only a matter of time until the roused trans mob physically attack the lesbians who are objecting to male transitioners claiming lesbian status and that when it inevitably erupts into violence, they don’t want high quality press photographs.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 06/07/2019 20:20

here are some actual Lesbians who are totes cool with sleeping with males......hang on a minute......

the fact that Pride chose that picture to tweet. I just....unh

The fail managed to get an "L with the T" pic in here as well which includes another sign saying "stop consulting bigots on trans rights".

Here's an idea: stop consulting misogynists on women's rights.

EverardDigby · 06/07/2019 20:45

Um, some of the L with the T have beards.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 06/07/2019 20:46

Has anyone seen the BBC news pictures of London pride?
They're what you might call biased.
There are a few crowd shots that have women in but all the close up shots of individuals are men, bar one. Well that particular one there's no way to tell as they're wearing a face veil.
Plenty of men dressed up as women and even one shot of the baby fetish lot.
Hmm

SunsetBeetch · 06/07/2019 20:49

Another LibDem supporting pups. As well as calling women "terfs".

I saw a pup pic! So much for censorship. Loaaaaads of men. Like a parade in the ME it was (well sex wise anyway).

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 06/07/2019 21:34

interesting after Ellen article about women attending Pride:

www.afterellen.com/general-news/570509-why-lesbians-no-longer-feel-welcome-at-pride-marches

Research compiled by Her, the dating app for lesbian and bisexual women, shows that 31% of us don’t feel comfortable or welcome at Pride. Even though 74% of participants lived in towns or cities where Pride parades took place, a meager 40% planned to attend Pride last year. A minority of lesbian and bisexual women go to Pride or feel like that space is for them. Over a third have never gone to a single Pride march

ArtisanBaps · 06/07/2019 22:11

@Pharoahs
Was just coming on to comment the same about the striking lack of representation of actual women in the photos. The shots that do contain women are all distant group shots where half the women's faces can't be seen. No smiling closeups etc

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 06/07/2019 22:16

lucky press photographers were allowed into Pride so they could catch this great shot. Really warms the cockles of your heart to see acceptance without exception, doesn't it?

Aspley · 06/07/2019 22:22

@BernardBlacksWineIcelolly

Please someone explain to me wtf this has to do with Pride?
Lesbians defending their sexuality are specifically excluded but grown men in dresses with dummies are accepted?
I think it is time lesbians identified as straight and get out.

Popchyk · 06/07/2019 22:28

Christ, Bernard. That pic.

Brave and stunning men dressed as small children and babies. Put me in mind of David Challenor, who identified as a little girl called Lucy. He's in prison now for the rape and torture of a 10 year old.

"Mr Wallace said Challenor had "various sexual fetishes and fantasies" including dressing up as a small girl himself in onesies and adult-sized baby dresses and nappies".

www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/sick-pervert-abused-10-year-15060652

Meanwhile lesbians were refused service across town.

For being lesbians.

What a time to be alive.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 06/07/2019 22:38

Please someone explain to me wtf this has to do with Pride?

all those men want is to be proud of their sexual orientation

when people at work are talking about their families, they just want to be able to say 'well on a Wednesday evening I pay a charming woman to spoon feed me, change my adult nappy when I soil myself and make me suck a dummy'.

is that too much to ask? IS IT?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 06/07/2019 23:16

that picture is on the BBC website by the way. I didn't cut and paste it here because frankly, it's horrible. but our national broadcaster feels it's a heartwarming memento of the day

littlbrowndog · 06/07/2019 23:26

So just a lot of guys dressed up 😂😂🤦‍♀️

littlbrowndog · 06/07/2019 23:27

So just prickpride now

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/07/2019 23:28

The adult babies? 🤢

OccasionalKite · 06/07/2019 23:34

BBC's photos in that link, provided by Bernard - the photos are mostly of men, in a variety of looks or images.

It is all very male-dominated.

MenuPlant · 06/07/2019 23:41

There was a piece on the news yesterday, local news maybe im in London though. Bbc. About how not everyone feels safe at pride. Tw feel scared of lesbians apparently. Not safe, apparently...
