With sporting role models like these, it’s a tragedy girls still think they have to change gender

I registered with the Telegraph so that I could read this cracking article. Good on Allison Pearson for her robust defence of girls against the poison of transgenderism.

Great article.

DD is a huge fan of Lucy Bronze. Sport can give girls role models, which broaden the bandwidth of aspirartional women beyond the Kardashian type glossy.

Wonderful article, its tragic the way the transgender ideology is pushing us back towards the old stereotypes for girls and boys as well.
It is criminal to encourage puberty blocking, criminal to encourage the idea one can literally change your sex. I have no patience or tolerance for those who do so. What you do as an adult is different, although lord knows there seem to be plenty of young trans-activists who don't know basic biology.

Fantastic article.

I used to be a tomboy; my role model was George of the Famous Five but I also vaguely remember Bill of Mallory Towers. Apart from a short phase in my teens, I've never worn make up and have never, ever possessed a pair of high heels. I don't spend any time on my face and can barely keep my hair tidy.

I was never into sport, so I never had sporty role models, but these women are incredible. I do remember admiring Steffi Graf back in the day, who started her tennis career at 13.

It's a tragedy to think of girls being channeled into malehood just because they aren't girly. When are we (as a society) going to wake up and save our girls?

And: Is this article going to be slammed as transphobic?

A good article. Some thoughtful comments underneath
