A typo or fake Surely?

Is this real?

Discussed on a previous thread - a fake I believe. The poster itself is real, the numbers were photoshopped in later.

mabelmylove · 01/07/2019 18:34

It’s fake. Designed to encourage the disapproval of the LGBT+ community.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/07/2019 18:37

I have seen real ones that say something along the lines of ‘age difference from 2-30 years’ which is heading that way I guess.

This one was a hoax I believe - but merrily retweeted in ‘good’ faith which says a lot about those who retweeted it.

Pota2 · 01/07/2019 18:40

It’s a fake but an LGBT group on Facebook retweeted it with the caption ‘true- love is love’. They obviously didn’t read it properly but it made them look like idiots.

gamerchick · 01/07/2019 18:42

It's fake but I seem to remember the original number was a 6 not a 0. Which is bad enough tbh. Not horrendous but might raise an eyebrow.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 01/07/2019 19:39

Designed to encourage the disapproval of the LGBT+ community

No I think it was designed to highlight the absurdity and danger of ‘ acceptance without exception’.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/07/2019 19:44

We can only be thankful there weren’t any pictures of animals...

Sandsnake · 01/07/2019 19:47

That’s fucking ridiculous. No matter what point you’re trying to make there’s just no excuse for faking that. People need to be better.

Bowlofbabelfish · 01/07/2019 19:47

This specific example is fake, but there is a thriving ‘MAP’ (minor attracted persons, or what everyone else calls pedophiles) on Twitter, who are trying to use the LGB community as a shield.

NB for mods - I am absolutely not suggesting that being LGB makes you any more likely to harm children. Im saying that, as previously happened with PIE in the seventies, these people are trying to use a legitimate community and their struggle for legitimate equal rights in order to gain acceptance.

So yeah, this one is fake, but other similar stuff has been published that isn’t.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 01/07/2019 19:49

I have seen a few child sized T-shirt’s on the high street with slogans asking the lines of ‘you can love who you want’ on them which does make me think - who is saying that?

Pinkyyy · 01/07/2019 19:50

It may well be fake, but it does provoke thought. When will this constant nagging for everything to be accepted cross that line?

I can imagine it now-
-A 10 year old who 'identifies' as 20
-A 74 year old who 'identifies' as 33
People saying that they should be able to choose their age. There have already been cases of elderly men trying to do exactly that, but up to now haven't been successful in legally changing their age. I wonder if it's just a matter of time.

Childrenofthestones · 01/07/2019 23:03

So, who do you think will be pushing the Overton window to eventually accept paedopiles as victims of society, more to be pitied than reviled, the left or the right?
Vice and Salon have both ran sympathetic articles

sackrifice · 01/07/2019 23:06

If someone retweets a fake picture, does the tweeting of it make it real?

As they really did retweet it. A Labour LGBT group that is.

barelove · 02/07/2019 00:21

If someone retweets a fake picture, does the tweeting of it make it real?

In this example, yes. In re tweeting this particular image, this GBT group presented to all that they were in agreement with it. They may not have created it, but they validated and promoted it, which made it real to them.

Nobs.
