This is so frightening. I feel American women's rights are being rolled back faster than us in the UK.

The Women's Liberation Movement s going to have to start again.

This is a shocking case. I was just reading about it and trying to get my head around it.
America is now like a dystopian novel. Terrifying.

What the actual fuck.
The bloke who shot her was let off ffs. He shot a pregnant woman!!

EweSurname · 27/06/2019 20:24

It was a woman who shot her, not
a man

Appalling. Woman-hatred and racism.

What!

Jones was five months pregnant when 23-year-old Ebony Jemison allegedly shot her in the stomach. Jemison was initially charged with manslaughter. But a Jefferson County grand jury has indicted Jones instead after authorities determined she started the altercation and Jemison opened fire in self-defence. Jemison's charges have been dropped. Police Lieutenant Danny Reid says the foetus was "dependent on its mother to try to keep it from harm".

Amanda Reyes, from the Yellowhammer Fund, which helps women access abortion services, said: "The state of Alabama has proven yet again that the moment a person becomes pregnant their sole responsibility is to produce a live, healthy baby.

Article makes it sounds like the other woman shot her in self defence. I'm not sure she should be charged for manslaughter but sounds like she definitely may have put her baby at risk/caused the situation.
