An interesting story on the BBC. (I'll post it in next post as my links never work in post 1)

Interesting and depressing that should say.

She wrote about the rape, yet it was her who made the town look bad rather than the rapists and their supporters? And they wonder why it is so unreported Angry

This is a shockingly typical reaction. I was blamed for rocking the boat / causing trouble for talking about my own and a good friend's rape when we knew who the perpetrators were. People don't mind knowing that a woman they know has been raped but would rather believe that she is a liar than admit that their friend is a rapist.

This book is good, and about a comparable community to Stuebenville (replace football and small town USA for ice hockey and small town Norway). Brought up a lot for me but I enjoyed it.

The "dirty little secrets should be kept in the family" really is disgusting. After reading this I then went on to one about Gangnam.

Being female really is not good.

People don't care about rape, they care about protecting rapists.

The Steubenville story was huge at the time.

No wonder there are radical feminists in South Korea.

Binglebong · 26/06/2019 17:05

I knew about that story at the time (well once it had been picked up by world media). But that someone who wrote about it still can't go back?! Extraordinary.
