Well I think it's disgusting that he's been suspended. He's the same age as my DS, who is doing critical work for his A levels at the moment.

Three weeks is unusually harsh.

Mayday19 · 23/06/2019 22:57

Itsallgoingtobefine not sure why you quoted me?
It’s the last couple of weeks of term, I doubt he’ll be missing much at school tbh. I’m glad he has exposed this though I’m not sure if what happens next will be a positive.

TheRedBarrows · 23/06/2019 23:38

I hope the young man knows he has plenty of support for his belief that he has a right to state scientific truth.

It would be better if he unlearned some of his learning and distinguished between sex and gender, but language has been obfuscated in that regard.

“According to an education source, the boy was suspended for breaching school policy by secretly filming the teacher.”

Yeah, yeah......

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/06/2019 07:50

Itsallgoingtobefine not sure why you quoted me?

Because the statement from the council makes it sound like the more serious transgression was knowing there are two sexes. So yes, suspended because of his knowledge.

Evenquieterlife33 · 24/06/2019 17:27

Isn’t it terrible when kids know the difference between scientific fact and fantasy and expect to be taught fact and not indoctrinated in what they know to be fiction. The kid has been suspended for three weeks for stating biological fact. Absolutely disgusting.

Lumene · 24/06/2019 17:36

Three weeks off for critical thinking?!?

PreseaCombatir · 24/06/2019 21:19

I’m glad he filmed it, because he’d already been dismissed as a ‘troublemaker’ by someone who hadn’t seen the video.
I’m guessing if there was no video it would be his word against the teacher, and we know how that goes.
Sometimes you need to break the rules, we wouldn’t have the freedoms we do today if people hadn’t broke the ‘rules’ and fought for them.

Evenquieterlife33 · 24/06/2019 21:31

Biological determinism is on the national curriculum for secondary schools. You can’t teach that at 1pm and then teach the opposite at 2. It’s a nonsense. We are at a point with all this were schools are able to add in teaching that conflicts with national curriculum. I think anything over and above the curriculum should have to be somehow signed off by the DFE so schools can’t get away with teaching non science and science, belief as belief and creationism. I wonder if there is any secondary school stipulation to funding from DFE relating to teaching actual fact based science as opposed to this.

I said on the other thread, he is luckily to still be at the school. All our local schools ban secret filming on their premises.
Of lessons/teachers/fellow students.
All parents/students sign a contract.
It states any student beleive to have secretly filmed will be suspended immediately if proven the school will look to expel the student(s)

So I totally back GivenncyDahhing
You cant have one rule for GC feminists and their 17 year old cheerleaders and another for students filming Miss boobs or arse, or the kid who films the toilets or a fight or bullying.

One rule for all.
He should have taken punishment, gone home and told his parents, who then raise with HoY/head teacher. Not filmed it and stuck on the internet.

That what every child/parent is told. It is on all MN threads too.

But of course on this section GC is always above the law/rules.
Those are just for the rest of use and those "evil" transmen and women.
Hypocrites.

ZebrasAreBras · 25/06/2019 10:22

There is no such clause for filming in my children's secondary school behaviour policies, 2boys - I've just looked it up. Nothing about phones or filming, I've searched the whole document.

You know very well that he wasn't just suspended for filming - but for not toeing the "inclusive" line (oh, the irony!), or backing down when told to.

We have a right to know what pseudoscience about gender is being taught in our children's schools in the name of inclusion.

Presumably you'd want to know if, say, a religious group going into schools to tell kids the earth is flat, or that being gay is a sin.

Women only have the vote because people were brave enough to break the rules.
It’s a shame you’re calling others hypocrites, while you’re enjoying the freedom earned off the back of these rule breakers.

So you think a child should be suspended for filming a teacher punishing him for not agreeing to the denial of biology, and people should be suspended for filming a female teacher 'upskirt', and, presumably, also suspended for filming a headteacher sexually harassing a subordinate? Or A teacher hitting a child? Or bullying a child, or intimidating a child?

Sticking uncritically to the rules means that you will ignore morality and ethics. Well done.

Mayday19 · 26/06/2019 12:32

I would strongly suspect that any video of a teacher secretly filmed would result in the suspension of the pupil. I can’t imagine how this wouldn’t be the case.

Mayday19 · 26/06/2019 12:33

Sorry, secretly filmed and posted on social media
