"Like a girl"

I was having a chat with DD (12) last night and she was telling me how her dad's gf calls her son the female version of his name to tease him, calls him a fairy, and says he does x "like a girl."
Cue a conversation about how "like a girl" is offensive as it makes out that girls are somehow lesser and that is not the case along with how damaging that kind of talk is. How fairy is often a homosexual slur and that this is not an acceptable way to treat anyone let alone a 7 year old boy.

Ffs, what kind of parent does that?

That is actually so sad. Good for your DD recognising this is wrong, both in denigrating women and girls, and bullying the boy. Does she feel like she can stick up for him? Poor kids Sad
