If you could have anyone on a feminist political party, who would you pick and what policy would they have?

Mine:
Joan McAlpine (SNP MSP)
preservation of single sex spaces

Yours?

Joanna Cherry, but OP you took my policy for Joan Smile

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 19/06/2019 10:19

That's ok, we can have it doubled.

I'm not bothered about a feminist political party. I want the main political parties to recognise that sex is real, no-one actually changes sex they just do a prolonged Cosplay and single sex facilities should mean that. Supporting freedom of speech (unless inciting people to physically harm people or bullying them) would also be important. I want less identity politics. People are people.

Freespeecher · 19/06/2019 12:23

Well, 2Rebecca 's got my vote.

Michelleoftheresistance · 19/06/2019 13:05

Anne Ruzylo, to add to Joanna and Joan and Rebecca's party above, and policy of single sex provision for women in prisons, refuges, rape crisis support, with trans specific units provided for those needing and requesting them. She would be amazing at this

She also gets the brief for liaison with the home office and CPS sorting out the unholy mess around prosecuting rape and sexual assault, and is definitely going on the committee for sorting out child safeguarding.

Michelleoftheresistance · 19/06/2019 13:16

And Magdalen Burns.
Policy: Basic Common Sense

placemats · 19/06/2019 13:34

Lisa Muggeridge for social policy.

I'd have a lot of vacancies.

A PM who can identify what a woman is. (oh, and treat them with respect).

Chancellor of Exchequer
to look at pensions, benefits, carers allowance and childcare funding so that women aren't shafted

Health & social care Sec
to support women's health issues, including the thorny issue of women with diseases that don't follow the textbook, because the textbook was written about a middle-aged man
women's healthcare to be provided in single sex spaces to females. By females, if that's what the patient requests

Education
to make sure girls can get on with learning while they're at school and don't have to modify their behaviour because boys
to make sure female girls aren't marginalised or put at risk by those with male biology

Home Secretary / Justice Sec
rape & sexual assault just get the feckers convicted.
maintain accurate, sex based crime stats
keep women's prisons for females

Women and equalities Minister, Sports Minister, Culture Minister.
to know what a woman is and use that special knowledge to drive policy

In the absence of capable parliamentarians, there are a few folk on this board I'd vote for.

Oh, and I know there is no magic money tree before that is flung at me. I'd just like women's priorities to have equal access to funding.

MockerstheFeManist · 19/06/2019 16:28

Sports Minister would be the excellent Tracey Crouch (again).

Chancellor: Stephen Kinnock

PM: Mrs Kinnock

ThePurported · 19/06/2019 23:57

Mrs Kinnock
Who, Glenys? If you mean Helle Thorning-Schmidt the first female prime minister of Denmark, let's not call her 'Mrs Kinnock' on FWR Wink

Angryresister · 20/06/2019 00:23

Francesca Martinez on the basis of her appearance on Question time. No idea about her ideas on self ID etc though.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 20/06/2019 09:30

Oh, yes, what's the name of the nurse that was in the early series of 24 hours in A+E? The lovely one with the short grey hair and an eyebrow piercing?

She can be in charge of everything.

We'd all be fine if she was at the helm.

So, what's clear is that there are not many politicians from any party who are openly GC.

Who do we reckon is in private?

I reckon Sophie Walker is itching to set up a WEP that is actually clear on what a woman is.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 20/06/2019 10:52

I'd let Sharron Davies take sport and there are a few GC scientists out there.
Lewis Moonie could maybe be Health Sec.

AlwaysComingHome · 20/06/2019 20:51

Right now, I’d settle for Skynet.
