According to someone in a FB group I am in (the group is for a totally unrelated hobby)
"I will just add that some of the so-called feminist groups, such as A Woman's Place, although there are others, have some pretty shady connections. Funding for opposition to GRA reform has been traced to fundamentalist Christian groups in the USA (which have pretty poor records on the rights of women), and the coverage they get in the parts of the media that otherwise objectify women (Mail/Express/Sun) is highly disproportionate to an equivocal dealing with the topic.
If you want to be feminist and support those who would subjugate and objectify women that is your choice, but I will support a feminism that empowers all women, whether straight or gay, trans or cis, of whatever race, creed or age."
Also
"... "cis" whether cis-man or cis-woman is somebody whose experience and expression of their gender is equal to the gender assigned to them at birth. It's a term that avoids there being trans-women or trans-men and "normal" or "ordinary", terms which feel like they imply trans people are "abnormal", rather than simply different.
Those who oppose transgender rights, in some cases denying that transgender people exist in their experienced gender (mostly women saying trans women can never be women) object to "cis" because it undermines their attempts to cast trans people as abnormal, against nature and all of the other techniques of erasure that have been tried and ultimately failed with gay people"
FYI this is a trans-identified male (as though you couldn't guess!)
His whole spiel is basically like everyone else's - either we capitulate completely to men's demands or we're evil bitches who wish they were all dead. No consideration that some women might have an element of critical thought.
I really must stay off FB at night
