Terrible article in Daily Mail. Woman and children controlled and abused for 15 years. Only ended after woman was finally able to escape the house one evening and go to GP. On mobile so no link.

Really sad story.

It's a pity about the sentencing restrictions. He should be kept indoors for the same number of years he kept her inside.

To get, effectively, a 12 month detention is good, he was convicted, but so very bad as it doesn't even begin to reflect the considered, deliberate, repetitive nature of his crime.

It's excellent that she got help and that the police appear to have been sympathetic, effective and supportive.

I Googled the victim. Not to my surprise the media outlets reporting this are The Daily Mail, The Sun and The Mirror. No mentions on the "quality press"
