Couldn't see if this was posted anywhere else, this article is a cheery start to the week Grin

An upsurge in grassroots women’s campaign groups is the result of “threats” to women’s rights, according to leading feminists and academics.

Debate about pensions, gender equality, menopause, the decriminalisation of prostitution, period poverty, workplace pregnancy dismissals and surrogacy has prompted new “kitchen table” groups – mostly unconnected to political parties, trade unions or the third sector – to spring up.

Great news :)

The comments though 😬. To paraphrase “There isn’t a threat to women’s right, my pretty little wife is fine at home ironing my socks, if there were a threat I would fight it as my wife has no opinions. Women’s sport? Don’t need it, men are best!”

Lovely article. Pathetic comments!

Good grief!! Where do they crawl out from? Clueless and so very, very certain of their being quite right!

Blech!

Oh Albert Burton [comments].

Do you need an extra spade for all that digging Grin

I found the article very moving because it named all the disparate causes that women are bringing to the political agenda.

Had our political parties and government funded "women's" pressure groups been doing their jobs, then women would not have had to do it for themselves.

Women have always had to fund and do the heavy lifting on a voluntary basis, and on a small scale. With social media, we have been able to link up and fight a common cause from the grassroots.
The achievements in Scotland have been amazing.
