TW tells women they don

Can't seem to copy and paste this and it is deleted from twitter but here is the full text from Bex Stinson who apparently works as Stonewall, and is a TW.

'If you are straight and CIS you don't have to deal with men forcing you to be sexual for their entertainment. You don't face violence and abuse if you reject their advances or deny them sexual pleasure. Pride matters'.

Only two possible explanations. One, this person's lived experience means they have not idea of what it is like to be an female woman and has never bothered to talk to any female women or read their accounts about this, but still presumes they do know and it is all dandy. Or B, they were addressing men and simply forgot female women actually exist. Because they aren't that important, after all.

Caroline Criado Perez has tweeted about how angry this makes her. Good for her.

Birdsfoottrefoil · 09/06/2019 19:29

BS is obviously the most oppressed person there is. Since any ‘violence’ (presumably misgendering) or abuse they suffer is obviously thousands of time worse than that women suffer, being the most oppressed an’ all, women must suffer very little.

S1naidSucks · 09/06/2019 19:35

Not sure if this person has ever even met a woman. I can only presume they were taking a sabbatical on another planet when "me too" started.

Now be fair! I’m sure this person has met plenty of women, but has been too busy transplaining to actually listen to the women.

Ereshkigal · 09/06/2019 19:54

But yes, well worth highlighting. I was openmouthed when I saw a screenshot of that earlier. (The tweet's been deleted, apparently.) My money's on B, btw.

My money's on C, Bex said it deliberately to troll women and get attention.

MsTSwift · 09/06/2019 19:58

I used to be quite good looking and being abused for rejecting men’s sexual advances happened on average every few months ages 14- 26.

NoSquirrels · 09/06/2019 20:12

I came on to see if someone had started a thread about this. It is quite possibly the most unbelievable tweet I have ever seen (since Ash Sarker posted that Julie Bindel had never done anything for incarcerated women)

Same here. Came into my feed via Caroline Criado Perez and there are SO MANY people calling it out.

What a bloody fool Bex Stinson is.

NoSquirrels · 09/06/2019 20:14

Also in Bex Stinson’s feed - a rant about NSPCC “dropping” Munroe Bergdirf (actually saying they were never officially associated in the first place)...

ZebrasAreBras · 09/06/2019 20:16

Astounding ignorance by Bex Stinson there. Some people are just so incredibly unaware of what women go through. From, often, pre-pubescence, and certainly from teenage.

lorit · 09/06/2019 20:17

Why was my post deleted upthread @mnhq? What the hell did I say? Confused

OvaHere · 09/06/2019 20:41

Apparently Stinson no longer works for Stonewall according to a few people on Twitter.

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 09/06/2019 21:12

In my mind "identifies as a woman" is now a synonym for "has the worst understanding possible of women's lives". Others have said it before, but I actually think men who identify as men are better placed to understand women than men who identify as women, because they at least don't have a vested interest in denying that biology affects our lives.

ADropofReality · 09/06/2019 21:17

Yes, all the people who took issue with it had not grasped the context. hmm

The context being Bex Stinson works for Stonewall, an organisation that has absolutely shat all over lesbians in favour of narcissistic entitled men?
