Seems to have been carried out by well known TRA who has threatened violence before: twitter.com/bindelj/status/1136402563379716096

Well said Lang completely agree. But you know, most normal people think calling this violent misogynistic male a woman in any way is ridiculous, stupid and wrong. But regulatory capture of so many institutions has happened without them realising.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 06/06/2019 12:07

Great Scotsman article

'Woman' my a*re.

This nonsense has to stop

DuMondeB · 06/06/2019 12:08

Who is in that photograph? Is it real?

It’s a still from a film. Here’s a feminist critique of it: femwords.blogspot.com/2016/01/tangerines-are-oranges-trans-women-are.html

AbsintheFriends · 06/06/2019 12:10

Interesting that the article in The Scotsman avoids all pronouns for Bindel's attacker.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 06/06/2019 12:11

This is great from The Scotsman
“Brennan has previously tweeted in support of violence against women who believe that changing the Gender Recognition Act to allow people to self-identify as any gender, rather than needing a medical diagnosis, would endanger women's rights to safety, privacy and dignity by doing away with single-sex spaces. One tweet read: "Any trans allies at #PrideLondon right now need to step the f*kup and take out the terf trash. Get in their faces. Make them afraid. Debate never works so f*k them up"

And the really sad thing is that MN are being pretty much the most permissive business in allowing women to talk about this and name it AT ALL, albeit in very circumscribed ways. (and yes pronouns are Rohypnol so having to walk on eggshells around pronouns and language and mis-sex people does have a real effect).

GrinitchSpinach · 06/06/2019 12:12

I hope this violent male is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This shameful act must not be recorded as a woman's crime.

ThePankhurstConnection · 06/06/2019 12:12

Can we call the attacker dickhead then? Because I really don't want to be part of harassing a feminist who is on my side.

Once again (and it is a daily occurrence now) I am disgusted by male violence.

And I will call it what it is.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 06/06/2019 12:13

I think 'man who attacked Julie Bindel' is going to work for me until we know his real name.

terryleather · 06/06/2019 12:16

Psychotic behaviour. Honestly, how can people claim there are no mental health issues. Detached from reality.

This.

And yet the brave and stunning ma'ams are feted and fawned over all across the land and here on FWR we must tiptoe through the pronouns in a respectful manner.

pickle that pic is a still from the film Tangerine where a brave and stunning ma'am sets aboot an actual female. Looks like a fair fight to me Hmm

R0wantrees · 06/06/2019 12:16

This is male violence against women.

Either its named & condemned or else colluded with.
There is no middle ground here.

Flowers & huge admiration for Julie Bindel and all of her work challenging the wide impacts of male violence against women.

littlbrowndog · 06/06/2019 12:18

It is rowan. This man tried twice to hit a woman because he didn’t agree with her

It took 3 security guys to stop him the 2nd time

DuMondeB · 06/06/2019 12:21

(Repost with image edited to conform to talk guidelines I will self-report my previous version posted at 12.11pm)

I suggest we use ‘Cathy Brennan’ for the original, feminist woman and ‘CB’ for the person who attacked Julie Bindel? Unless anyone can find an appropriate alternative?

KF’s might be able to tell us who this person really is - they noted that CB had misappropriated Cathy’s name a while back...

Diane Abbott saying something is interesting. It suggests Diane is a) paying attention b) fully respects Julie without question c) does not think Julie is transphobic

It really is. It gives me a tiny bit of hope regarding Labours policy intentions.

DuMondeB · 06/06/2019 12:25

Anyone in Abbot’s constituency fancy dropping her an email?

ScottishDoll · 06/06/2019 12:25

I think 'man who attacked Julie Bindel' is going to work for me

Agreed

ScrimshawTheSecond · 06/06/2019 12:26

On another mumsnet thread recently there was a suggestion to use the name 'TownTattle', as that's the twitter handle.

There is no evidence that suggests male-pattern violent/abuse patterns change with the assumption of gender identities.

This male person is illustrating predicatable abusive patterns of behaviour.

LangCleg · 06/06/2019 12:26

Concur. If we can't call this person a violent man on here, then there is a mahousive fucking problem.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 06/06/2019 12:28

Can we call the attacker dickhead then?

Yup. That’s what I’m going with. I hope this violent dickhead is arrested and charged. Surely it’s a hate crime against a lesbian woman?

R0wantrees · 06/06/2019 12:29

I think 'man who attacked Julie Bindel' is going to work for me

'The perpetrator' may also (as always) be appropriate.

There is evidence that it does not.
