So a company in the U. S are supporting a campaign to end period poverty, great you all say! Unfortunately they start their tweet by calling women who can't afford sanitary products as "low income menstruators " and also say how men's products like viagra are considered essential goods.

They are getting a lot of replys annoyed at the word mensturators being used which is fantastic but also a lot of replys that period poverty is not real.

We are women.

That's just purposeful dehumanising, objectification. Reducing women to body parts - no brain involved.

I also noticed, along with one of the commentators, that they called the homeless woman a 'woman' & not a 'menstruator', as though acknowledging that it would be futher dehumanisation and so a step too far.

Personally, I feel like it's something that they just overlooked. They have to try SO HARD to keep using stupid terms like menstruator that they can't quite keep up with themselves. I always notice that even on the wokest of wokest websites, they only remember to list their pronouns on articles that are specifically about trans issues.

I'm really glad to see that most commenters are against this. It's complete nonsense.
