I haven't posted on Mumsnet for ages (still lurking though) but for those of you still following the Girl Guides debacle, here's the audio of talk I gave last month at the For Women Lancashire event. I'll publish a transcript too.

Apologies for the shameless self promotion but this is the first public talk where I've really had time to get into the detail. It's 22 minutes long so I don't blame you for skipping bits.

With thanks to the wonderful For Women Lancashire for making me so welcome, feeding and hosting me.

Thank you for all you have done to counteract the dangerous nonsense propagated in these organisations.

PlayYouLikeAShark · 29/05/2019 01:25

I'm fully behind you Agnes, you are bloody brilliant. Well done on the speech. 👍

I was wondering where you had gone Agnes then heard the recording of your speech on FB last night. Great stuff. Flowers

R0wantrees · 29/05/2019 14:07

Great speech and so important to make clear that this is about restablishing Safeguarding Frameworks intended to protect all children and vulnerable adults.
many thanks Agnes Star

drspouse · 29/05/2019 17:56

Yay!

Outanabout · 29/05/2019 18:47

Anyone sane would think that after Catholic priests, Jimmy Saville, PIE, children's care home scandals have all proven that NOBODY who has access to children can be given a free pass... that those in charge of children would look very closely at any individual or group that's attempting to remove normal safeguarding just by dint of a bit of handwaving and fast talking.

newtlover · 29/05/2019 20:36

great speech Agnes Grin

S1naidSucks · 30/05/2019 12:21

Just bumping again, as I think your great speech should be seen by a few more people, Agnes.

AgnesBadenPowell · 30/05/2019 21:06

Thanks @S1naidSucks. I'm also going to write a transcript and get it published online ASAP for those who would rather not hear my voice!
