Little publicised Judicial Review 5th/6th June on the raising of womens pension age

Copied from another site;
We all know that the pension age for women in their fifties has been raised.
Did you know a campaign called 'Back to 60 movement'

“has won the right to a Judicial Review and is taking the DWP to the High Court ? On the 5th and 6th June they will attempt to

get the 3.9 million women justice over non consultation in raising the pensionable to 66 and above.

Michael Mansfield QC will lead the case and the argument for the movement. However there does not appear to be

any media coverage regarding this significant event. That is why I am raising the awareness now. Let's hope and pray for justice rightly deserved

PLEASE, PLEASE COPY AND PASTE.

Seems to be a media blackout on this issue which suggests that the government do not want you to know about

it so share the hell out of it please. Come on ladies this is worth a great deal to you.

Is this about the women born between 1951-5(?) who weren't given warning before the years were wiped off their pension?

If so, I'm amazed that this hasn't been publicised more!

Will be watching with interest.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 28/05/2019 16:46

Can you post a link that I can share?

AncientLights · 28/05/2019 16:54

Echoing Sonic. I have only recently joined WASPI, the campaigning group for this. When I last looked at their website there was a piece by Ros, Baroness Altman, saying when she was pension's minister Ian Duncan Smith had instructed her not to meet any women affected as we'd go away eventually. Yep, we'll die in poverty. Thanks Ian.

But 'they'll go away eventually" - rather put me in mind of this trans shit show and their attitudes to us.

happydappy2 · 28/05/2019 17:09

Very interesting, have not heard anything about this court case.

mimivanne · 28/05/2019 17:17

There isn't a link on the other site but the Review is top story on the Thanet News.I hope this link works

Some background

www.ftadviser.com/pensions/2018/11/30/government-faces-judicial-review-over-state-pension-age/

and why it was delayed... poor DWP bunnies needed more time to prepare themselves... yes DWP twats, the very reason the women are bringing the case!

Oh, the sodding irony!

poppynova · 08/06/2019 15:54

Hi this is my first comment on here.
The Backto60 Judicial Review - fighting for ALL women born in the 1950's.

Thankyou for your support.

mimivanne · 08/06/2019 16:37

Welcome Poppy
I did wonder if this comment from Sir James Eadie,QC for the DWP on the second day of the review,would have been quite so cavalier if he was talking about men;
'The 4 million women who lost up to 47k each when their retirement age was increased from 60 to 66 have no right to expect fairness from the Government'.
Righto

poppynova · 08/06/2019 17:02

Hi mimivane,
I agree with you regarding his comments and it was said almost with a snigger.
He also said that we did not have the right to have been notified of any changes that were made.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 08/06/2019 19:11

This is potentially very important to me. I am too ill to work and struggle to even get benefits. To have a state pension would really change my life.

NameChangerAmI · 08/06/2019 19:18

Watching with interest. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

mimivanne · 08/06/2019 19:29

Prawn
All crossed ,Michael Mansfield QC for Backto60 is no shrinking violet.

Poppy,
Eadie didn't appear to hide his disdain for the women concerned

Ancientlights
It was not WASPI that brought about the Judicial Review, it was Backto60 of which I am a moderator.

redredrobins · 14/06/2019 18:10

Does this mean it now goes to parliament for a decision or what?

MenuPlant · 14/06/2019 18:36

Thank you for posting
V important

'The 4 million women who lost up to 47k each when their retirement age was increased from 60 to 66 have no right to expect fairness from the Government'.

What am absolute total scumbag of a misogynist git.

To say this in public, he doesn't even realise then how this sounds.

Gobsmacking. This is what women are up against even in 2019. Women are dispodable, unimportant. We should work when needed step back when not. Accept unequal pay pensions etc. Keep on quietly even when we are old and skint. Do all the shit work quietly. Not fuss when the govt changes stuff like this with barely any warning.

Fuck this.

mimivanne · 14/06/2019 19:35

You are kinder than me Menu I think he knew exactly how he came across

OP posts:
BBCBias001 · 14/06/2019 22:00

I can't see any news report that the judicial review has succeeded? Wasn't that video just about the granting of the judicial review (which started this week but I presume judgement has not been given)?

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 14/06/2019 22:08

Oh he knows how it would come across, he just doesn't care, because it's only women.

HelenaDove · 15/06/2019 00:53

Just going to slot this in here.
