What do people think of the No Outsiders programme being taught in schools?
I'm hoping that someone knows more about it than I do, but I wouldn't be happy with my children being taught about TG issues (assuming the slant it will take). The LG bit is fine, IMO.
I'm finding the protests outside schools very interesting. I'm not Muslim, and it's being framed as a religious tolerance issue, when, as I said, I wouldn't be happy with it either.

The No Outsiders project began life in September 2006 at the University of Sunderland, led by Dr Elizabeth Atkinson and Dr Renee DePalma, with a grant of £575,435.85. It ended in December 2008. In addition to the academic staff 26 practitioner-researchers were recruited, working in 16 English primary schools. Details of some of the work that resulted from the project can be found on the ESRC website.

The research report, citations and references all place the project within an influential academic area, namely queer theory.

The No Outsiders project was all about bringing queer theory into the primary classroom, or 'queering the curriculum'. Despite Andrew Moffat's name being linked to this making it look as though it was all his work, he was just one of the 26 teachers involved in the original project.

One of the most interesting aspects of the No Outsiders programme is that it takes something important and wonderful (educating kids to be tolerant around diversity) and takes it into extremes that are easy to criticise by all but the most woke.

In order to appreciate the meaning of the current state of affairs you have to take a global perspective and understand that the Kremlin has form for astroturfing all kinds of minority campaigning groups and using them to take their agendas to an extreme, at which point the right wing groups that they also bankroll get very angry and horrible situations arise.

It is not only the Kremlin that does this, all countries do it, it is a kind of "soft war".

If you read the Transgender Trend article about the No Outsiders programme, and/or some of the papers from the original project, you'll see that it was about 'queering the classroom', not about tolerance and diversity. It was only ever about messing with children's brains so that they could be educated out of having any boundaries, and had no concept of what should be normal or acceptable in a civilised society.

The tolerance and diversity bit is the Trojan Horse which is being used to get queer theory into the classroom.

I already had concerns about the 'T' after seeing the regressive sexist nature of 10,000 dresses and when I read the TransgenderTrend analysis it confirmed my suspicions.

And by conflating sexuality and gender it means school thinks you're a bigot for questioning the ideology. Clever.

I disagree with its approach to trans issues.
But I suspect the protests are from parents who do not want their children to be taught that it is normal to be lesbian and gay. So I see this as part of the backlash to increasing rights over the last few decades, for lesbian and gay people.
There is going to be a wider backlash against the trans stuff, and I am worried that this will be used as an excuse to also have a backlash against lesbian and gay people.

The trouble is that part of teaching kids that it is normal to be lesbian and gay means normalising aspects of homosexual sex and so for example on the Respect Yourself website which is used by various counties you can find this:

I did read the article and I am in agreement with it.

I was attempting to point out that the modus operandi in relation to this kind of thing is to take a "liberal", progressive aspect of Western democracy, whether it is Trans rights, feminism, freedom of religious belief, disability rights or some other human / minority rights group and then use it to promote extreme and easy to ridicule aspects within such movements.

Examples within feminism would be the Red Tent movement, yoni eggs, Naomi Wolf's endorsement of Mike Lousada, the appropriation and perversion of spiritual movements focussing on the divine feminine, etc.

Examples within the disability rights movement would be SHADA, Outsiders, TLC and anything to do with Tuppy Owens (a woman who gave a lot of support to the PIE back in the day) and the appropriation of disability and special needs health care for disabled children by quacks promoting bizarre conspiracy theories regarding satanic ritual abuse.

Sorry, hoodathunkit, I think I misunderstood what you were getting at. I read the first part of your post and I thought you were repeating what the MSM have been saying. Having read the rest of your post properly, I realise that's not what you were saying.

But are you saying that this is being pushed in schools in order to produce a backlash? So it's sort of the opposite of what we think it is? Get queer theory into the classroom to provoke parents into protesting, and then...what? Or have I misunderstood again?

Seems good to me, all age appropriate. I haven't heard anyone moaning about it at our school.

I believe that a backlash is wanted, because then those parents can be dismissed as bigots. MSM will report them as terrible bigoted people for not wanting their children to be taught tolerance and acceptance of Lesbian and Gay relationships and families that are outside of the heterosexual narrative.
So on the back of that, the No Outsiders campaign will be seen as a wonderful way to educate children. With the homophobic transgender Queer theory that teaches children the the lie they can change sex.

Yes that really makes sense. It explains why he, Andrew Moffat went to a Muslim school where he would get the reaction he wanted to give a higher profile to his cause.

This theory does actually explain his choice of school. He deliberately chose a school full of Muslim children and their conservative religious parents, where even fairly anodyne material would cause problems. They are then framed as bigots, and the way is paved for completely batshit queer theory stuff to be wheeled in, and anyone complaining is just a bigot like those Muslim parents who are offended by anyone being taught about gay relationships.

So it's a Trojan Horse. What I hadn't really thought about before was the bit about making sure everyone knows that only bigots complain about the material being taught.

@OldCrone and @koteczek, if your theories are correct (that Andrew Moffatt and No Outsiders are deliberately targeting Muslim schools, so that it looks like 'only' Muslim bigots object to their 'promoting tolerance of LGBT people' [but-actually-infiltrating-primary-schools-with-queer-theory] agenda), isn't it very important that feminists and feminist groups start also speaking out against No Outsiders, but from a feminist / GC point of view? Otherwise the Muslim parents will be isolated, wrongly labelled as 'bigots' (when interviews with them show their position is a lot more nuanced covering age-appropriateness, parents' rights, and gender identity ideology), and dismissed.
