I don't know where to start really. I've never posted on this board before. But last night I watched four presenters; two men in shirts and black tuxedos, and two women - one in a sparkly skin tight dress and the other in a nude corset top with a ballet style skirt and the difference in presentation style was a massive smack in the face to me. The men had gravitas (Ok, it's Eurovision, so not much) and the women were there to look pretty: when the fuck is this shit going to stop?

When sex stops selling

Was there an act where men pulled women's skirts off without anyone saying it was weird or creepy?

If not then there has been progress at Eurovision in the last 40 years.

Same with Strictly.

Brucie got to wear a suit with a waistcoat for fuck's sake (presumably in case it was chilly?)

Whereas the women usually had bare shoulders. (I do hope they weren't cold...)

Well of course. The women are like Christmas trees - they exist only to be decorated and looked at.
The men, on the other hand, just 'are'.
They don't need a reason to be there.
