A slight antidote to the ridiculous Ruth Hunt article:

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/may/18/when-the-far-right-crack-rape-jokes-part-of-a-systemic-bid-to-demean

Nick Cohen has a piece about the amount of abuse women receive both online and offline. He includes a reference to the Sonic Fox "What I do to Terfs" tweet.

It's a small thing, but a step in the right direction. I've always hoped Cohen would be a gender critical ally, but as far as I'm away this is the first time he's made any reference to the debate in his column.

Unless Cohen can find a Brexit angle I doubt he’s interested. I used to be a fan but he’s a one-issue man these days.

This doesn't have a Brexit angle, though.

Apologies for accidentally posting this three times - I have reported to MN.

I like his writing.

Cohen is getting there....

...slowly.

He undoubtedly gets it. I think a mnetter approached him and was reluctant to get bogged down in the subject (and in fairness it is a subject you get bogged down in as a journalist)

I am reasonably confident he will get there eventually.

I know this wasn’t intentional but posting an apology three times made me laugh.

I’m having problems with MN myself so I think it’s a technical issue.

Anyway, my point stands. Cohen can’t possibly believe any of this bollocks but he hasn’t addressed it.

It’s precisely the kind of thing he would have commented on back when he was writing You Can’t Read This Book - but now he’s only interested in one topic.
