Well done Pep Guardiola

Exactly that really - when the reporter asked about the possibility of winning the first domestic treble, he immediately said "men's", because it has been done by Arsenal women.

Just a nice bit of reinforcement of women's sport. (Makes me think of Andy Murray too)

Well done him!

Thanks for this, met with dd1 and dd2s approval.

BlackeyedGruesome · 18/05/2019 19:49

Excellent

FermatsTheorem · 18/05/2019 20:51

Almost reconciles me to him beating us to the title so narrowly. Wink

Seriously though, well done Pep (and grudging congrats on the treble).

I have noticed on the radio news they are saying that Manchester city made history by being the first men's team to do the treble. So it seems that it has been taken on board

Voice0fReason · 18/05/2019 21:34

This is a welcome change!

Yes! I loved Andy Murray for that RockCrushesLizard. And when he (Andy) tackled the reporter who asked him why he had a female coach (which he did for a while). He said he didn’t have a problem with strong women. Was good that Pep said it too - as minsmum says, the BBC news coverage is now referring to men.

BlackeyedGruesome · 18/05/2019 23:49

Radio Four headlines had it as unprecedented... The report included women getting there first.

Antibles · 19/05/2019 00:51

Nice one.

The Andy Murray effect in action. I love that lad. Pep seems like a good sort. City are great about promoting their women's team too, they're very strict about doing it all under one banner. Big admiration for that. Women's World Cup approaching soon too....
