Maybe some in the celeb, acting, comedy worlds actually believe that TWAW but I think there are many who know it's cobblers but go along with it to raise their progressive status in order to help their career.

I think that's worse than actually believing TWAW.

True. This new breed of observational comedians are the opposite of observant. They think they are championing something progressive and making fun of ignorant people. It would be amusing if it wasn't so tragic.

I have noticed this with a lot of the popular American comedians. The joke seems to be to just mock people who think the wrong things, or mock Trump's hair or something. It's just like "And they believe that, can you believe it?" and you are supposed to laugh.

It's very weird to me. Political humour can be hilarious, but they don't seem to be even making a joke.

I would also like Sara to answer the question of when a 'transwoman' comes out of the High risk category of male and into the low risk category of female. Given that 98% of sexual crime is carried out by males. At what point of 'transition' does that happen?

I've felt guilty every time I've seen her on anything, for not finding her funny. Thought it was my female conditioning kicking in, the bias that says 'women aren't funny'.

Same here! But then I think of people like Jennifer Saunders, Jo Brand and Jenny Eclair, get them on everything and we could at least laugh. Sara Pascoe is just not funny.

Well, in all honesty, how can you actually make women being uncomfortable with men in their toilets funny if the women are the butt of your joke? Bernard Bresslaw in a 60's nurse outfit being chased out of a female space is operating on assumptions about him being seen as a dodgy perv, not the women being stupid for objecting.

FFS, we live in a world where men can win women's business awards by femme-ing up on Thursdays and Fridays, where individuals with an unhealthy interest in sanpro can loiter in women's toilets because everyone now has to assume that he's a woman, and cotton ceiling is a thing - and comedians take the piss out of women?

Katherine Ryan was something like Hooters employee of the year, and as far as I know is still really happy with what the company does. There will be many things she and I disagree about. I still think she's really funny though.

And if she truly believes that Caitlyn Jenner is a woman, I'll eat my woolly hat.

This sounds hopeful - and it resonates so much with me; I wasn't so young but as teenager I definitely wanted to be a boy and if anyone offered to me I would have either taken it or at least really considered.

I seem to remember an interview with Pascoe in which she said she got in to comedy in order to be able to talk about topics she wanted to talk about (which kind of explains why she's nowhere near as funny as Katherine Ryan).
