Trans School Toolkit - brilliant assessment

Helen from Transgendertrend has done a brilliant assessment of the Allsort’s Trans School Toolkit (the one they says girls who don’t want to share changing rooms with boys should be educated...). It is the Toolkit that has formed the basis of many versions all over the country.

JFC.

The whole thing is basically propaganda dressed up in legalese to fool people.

The authors should be ashamed beyond words.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 10/05/2019 14:28

(I mean, I'm not in the least surprised, but seeing it laid out like that, point by point, is chilling)

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 10/05/2019 14:39

It’s brilliant. The guidance insists that ‘trans girls are girls not boys in dresses’ so how does this square with the fact that 80% of young people desist as they go through adolescence? Either they were never girls at all or putting on a dress makes them a girl and taking it off again makes them back into a boy? A rational approach would see this simply as a developmental stage that some young people go through and support them accordingly.

The guidance insists that ‘trans girls are girls not boys in dresses’

How do they define 'girl' and 'boy'? This sort of guidance makes no sense when you start to analyse what it's saying. The people who implement it in schools regardless must switch off their brains first.

Thanks Willow!

you're welcome!

Outstanding! And really, really important.
This unpicks every aspect of the gaslighting, deliberate misrepresentation of the law and the deliberate erasure of the rights of girls. Chilling to see it spelled out like this.
It needs sending to every Director of Children's Services, Headteacher and MP in the land! They will never be able to say that they didn't know when the lawsuits start rolling in.

HandsOffMyRights · 10/05/2019 16:20

I'm so pleased about this.
You may recall my child's headteacher dismissed this Transgendertrend after all the bad press from Schools Week. It's a Stonewall Champion School, so this assessment is most welcome (even though it's for Allsorts, Helen said on Twitter there are many crossovers with Stonewall).

Also, the Transgender Trend
Schools Pack comes out on top in the TES in the
review of school's transgender guidance by Debbie Hayton, so thanks Debbie.

Wonderful work by Helen.

Reading this, how can anyone be in any doubt about the deeply worrying implications and affects of this ideology on children and young people.

Educators and politicians cannot ignore this any longer.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 10/05/2019 22:24

I'm going to send this to my MP and ask him to get a response from idiot secretary of state for education Damian Hinds.

LangCleg · 10/05/2019 22:46

Thank you to Helen for this fab impact assessment. In particular, this section:

To promote these controversial political views as fact would be in breach of the terms of the Education Act

The Education Act 1996
406 Political indoctrination
(1)The local education authority, governing body and head teacher shall forbid—
(a)the pursuit of partisan political activities by any of those registered pupils at a maintained school who are junior pupils, and
(b)the promotion of partisan political views in the teaching of any subject in the school.

If parents do not subscribe to this new ideology, their freedom of thought and belief is overlooked, and instead it is suggested that they must be taught the new ideas by the group which has written the Toolkit:

"Allsorts Youth Project can provide advice to educational settings about how to work with parents and carers; including those who are requesting the school does not support their child to express their gender identity. (p29)"
"It is understandable that some parents and carers will struggle with their child questioning their gender identity and it may be a long process to become more accepting of this change. This challenge should be acknowledged as difficult and parents and carers can be referred to Allsorts Youth Project for support. (p35)"

This is absolutely superb. Huge thanks Helen Saxby for dismantling the appalling Allsorts trans guidance for schools. I strongly recommend every parent who feels strongly about this harmful dogma being taught in schools to look up whether their Local Education Authority (LEA) has adopted the Allsorts guidance. If they have please then send Helen's document not only to the officers but also to the Cabinet member who is the Portfolio holder for Education. Then also whoever is responsible for safeguarding. Send to your children's Headteacher and ask for a meeting. We need to get this out there

Michelleoftheresistance · 14/05/2019 19:13

Very well written. Agree with every point.
