Another "interloper" winning in women's cycling

I came across this today over on KF, and it is from the US where another transwoman athlete is winning at cycling - Evelyn Sifton, who won a road criterium event in Houston, winning $600 prize money. I don't know how many of the other competitors were happy about that, but I suspect the one who finished in 5th place - Jennifer Wagner, would not have been at all happy, because Jennifer has been here before, last year, when she finished 3rd to McK in the Track WC's.

Hmm. I wonder how much of this Jen W will put up with. I watched the video - interesting to see the constant jump cuts so we can't spend too much time looking closely at Evelyn. Who is actually quite good looking. And talks all the time about possible discrimination but only about trans athletes, has no idea seemingly that women are being displaced.

I boggle at the lack of self awareness displayed by these individuals. It's textbook narcissism, surely, not to register that you're blatantly cheating?

This won't last because no one want elite male sport and mediocre male sport it will just end in elite male sport if it's not stopped.

It's such unbelievably pathetic behaviour. Anyone with an ounce of shame or self-awareness in their bodies would be absolutely mortified to stand on a podium and call themselves the winner competing in the wrong category. It would be like me entering a primary school sports day and absolutely dominating the bean bag race.

The sporting bodies that are allowing this need to speak up and protect their female athletes. Their sport will eventually become a joke otherwise. Nobody will tune in except to point and laugh at the medal ceremony.

Yup totally fair if a chap decides to self ID as F and the next day enter a women's cycle race and win. The UCI is wrong along with other bodies who approve. Why don't they let women on steroid enter too since that would be about the same...all in fairness mate!!!

Well, in part as this is their job and for many, still their passion. DNSing is hard for someone to do for both financial and emotional reasons. They also have their own sponsors to worry about. I also think they are still clinging to hope that trans women are not going to sweep the podium.

I think once they all reach their own peak moment: trans women are gong to sweep and they are going to lose their own sponsors as they aren’t winning, they will start walking.

I do agree with where your question leads, I think ultimately these sportswomen need to start DNSing. Let the cheating trans women cycle around the track by themselves and gloat about their win against no one or each other. Everyone will soon start asking more and more questions because no one is going to sponsor or fund something no one is going to watch anymore.

I get how important sport can be to women and why they don’t want to DNS but that is where their power lays. In affecting the viewership, the dollars.

No. 1 ranked female tennis players would struggle to beat the 700th man. And that's really only because Serena Williams is such a fine athlete and a, erm, strapping lass.
I feel really sorry for American female athletes in particular for whom sport is a pathway to education. The madness has to stop. It feels a bit like 'The Emperor's New Clothes'...

Either we have 'women's sport' - events where biological women can take part. Or we don't. It was biology that caused the creation of women's sport in the first place. Not for people who are bioloically male, but 'feel' like a woman.

It would be a bit like able bodied people taking part in para sports because they 'feel' disabled. We don't allow this, so why do we allow the other?

A bit too far for me to go quite honestly, although I may have thought about it if it had been held at the Olympic Velodrome in Stratford.
I think it would take about five minutes (or less) for me to get thrown out if I witnessed anything like that
