MN have deleted the thread started by Maya - who lost her job for speaking up for women- because it talks about her crowdfunding for legal costs

Here is today's times article on the case https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tax-expert-fired-for-saying-trans-women-aren-t-women-tpqgnm9vj?shareToken=3f12f5cae61c02fd41040eb816fd37b4&wgu=2705255426441557045162977940f0d76fa1&wgexpiry=1564821162&utmmsource=planit&utmmedium=affiliate&utmm_content=22278

This is why I absolutely love We may not always agree with the decision that MNHQ makes and I know they’re under massive pressure, so I appreciate the fact that they give women a place to speak. For Mumsnet too. 💐

ChickenonaMug · 05/05/2019 15:55

I am so happy to see all the support that Maya has received.

Thank you Maya for being so brave. This is such an important case.

S1naidSucks · 05/05/2019 16:01

As Isabel says on a certain site, PUULLLL!

You may be the only person in a scarily dark room, with a candle, Maya, but that candle will help light other candles and the light will shine into the dark corners. Well done on helping the light shine.

jhuizinga · 05/05/2019 16:04

Thank you, Maya. I am delighted and heartened by all the support you have had today. As I said in the deleted thread, I am sorry you are having to go through this but am with you all the way.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 05/05/2019 16:25

Well, the unmentionable thing sure it's sending a powerful message.

terryleather · 05/05/2019 16:30

Another one adding their support for this case and for Maya.

Humans cannot change sex, this isn't a belief it's a fact and facts should always be able to be stated no matter who doesn't like it.

NowtSalamander · 05/05/2019 16:36

That thing we aren’t talking about is making me weep a little weep - well done sisters!

resisterpersister · 05/05/2019 17:04

The thing we aren't talking about is proof we're not funding by right wing American Christians or some such nonsense. It's all there, plain to see - above board. Ordinary people chipping in together. Average donation under £30.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 05/05/2019 17:05

Just adding support and courage to you Maya!

RepealTheGRA · 05/05/2019 17:15

I feel JN is right that gender is a belief. The GRA should be scrapped and trans people protected under article 9. Equally GC people who do not share the same belief should be protected under article 9

Completely agree. Trans people should also be protected under freedom of expression.

RepealTheGRA · 05/05/2019 17:22

I am really heartened by how fast something we’re not allowed to talk about has moved.

15 months ago it took weeks to achieve the level of support that has today been achieved in under 12 hours. People are waking up and it is truly beautiful! Smile

FannyCann · 05/05/2019 17:28

RepealtheGRA Agree. It's been amazing to see that thing grow today, I keep logging in and checking. Rage measured in £££ I think.
It's wonderful to see.

stillathing · 05/05/2019 17:34

Maya thank you for putting yourself out there for all of us. It means so much, especially to those of us who are effectively silenced.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 05/05/2019 17:38

Solidarity Maya.
This is such an important fight.

welshgendercrit · 05/05/2019 17:42

This is such a hugely important case for women's rights and for freedom of expression. The thing we mustn't mention has already exceeded all expectations. Smile

FloralBunting · 05/05/2019 17:44

After the day at work from hell, this has been a tonic.

RepealTheGRA · 05/05/2019 17:48

Sorry you had a bad day floral Flowers

sackrifice · 05/05/2019 17:53

What a great result, and Maya tweeted my comment and donation support.

Totally behind you, this could be any of us.

GeordieGenes · 05/05/2019 17:55

You are amazing Maya! This case will shed a whole lot of light in this issue, which is exactly what we need.

Thank you Thanks

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/05/2019 17:55

Anyone know how long it is likely to be till it gets to court?

ImGenderfree · 05/05/2019 18:02

I think this shows just how many pissed off women there are - thank you Maya for fighting this fight on behalf of us. These are my views as well and I should be able to say them without fear.

BettyFloop · 05/05/2019 18:04

Another one adding thanks and support to Maya Flowers

50shadesofgreyrock · 05/05/2019 18:06

I’m kinda pissed at the women doing the TRAs work for them, though. They don’t even need to bother to complain. You’ll get the thread deleted yourselves ffs.
Anyhoo. I posted on the original thread about twelve hours ago - this case is completely pivotal. I’m sure you would much rather have not been sacked, Maya, but thank you for having the courage to use that horrific experience to legally challenge this belief system. Sending huge strength and support.

Daughterofmabel · 05/05/2019 18:06

Supported

Lamaha · 05/05/2019 18:07

Such an important case. Thank you Maya and unless you get an extremely woke judge the outcome should be obvious. Tttmnbm gives me great joy.
