I'm going to order a roll of them.

Lunabody I’ve read your links. They say quite clearly that discrimination against a transsexual person is allowed if there is a good enough reason for doing so. The law describes this as a proportionate means for a legitimate aim. The link suffers from the same mixup between sex and gender that is so common in that it says a service provider must provide services according to the sex in which you present. But of course as sex is fixed at conception and cannot be changed the sex you present as will be the sex you were born as. A GRC allows a legal fiction of changing sex to some individuals who have gone through significant counselling/treatment although this is very rare. Stonewall et al would of course like to be able to give GRCs out to all and sundry without need for any check or any surgical and hormonal treatment. Given that 97% of all sexual offences are committed by men and the vast majority of victims are women it is inevitable that predatory men will see this as a great opportunity to gain access to female only spaces without challenge. This is not the same as saying that all transsexuals are predators but a realistic view of the way in which such a law will be abused.

Standing for women sell them....

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 03/05/2019 15:25

In 20 years time I will be proud that I stood up for women’s rights, science rather than ideology and rationality rather than mystical belief. This seems to make me ‘transphobic’ in which case I am proud to call myself transphobic too.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 03/05/2019 15:29

Lunabody I’d love to hear your description of ‘female gender identity’ in words that don’t include ‘identity’ or ‘gender’ as in ‘a female gender identity is the identity that females have’. Go on- enlighten us.

FuzzyLilac · 03/05/2019 15:34

Why is everything female related transphobic?

barelove · 03/05/2019 15:35

I hope that Jennifer will catch up soon, but is kind to herself and feels no shame or disgust when she looks back to the opinions she currently holds. She's drunk the koolaid without informed consent and who knows how many stickers she'll have to report before the penny finally drops and she realises she's been duped.

Datun · 03/05/2019 15:37

Why is everything female related transphobic?

Yeah, funny that.

nauticant · 03/05/2019 15:46

In 20 years time I'll be very surprised if I'm going "Doh! Why did I ever oppose the sterilisation of children and the removal of their sexual function?"

Equally, I doubt I'll be thrilled at all of the male-bodied sex offenders in women's prisons. (If we are unlucky enough to end up with that.)

barelove · 03/05/2019 15:53

I really hope you're not unlucky enough to end up in one nauticant Hmm

DpWm · 03/05/2019 16:35

At the rate things are going we could all end up in prison for "crimes" such as calling a male person a "he" or even just thinking it.

I'd like to believe if I do end up in a women's prison for such a crime I could be at least spared the risk of falling pregnant while I'm there. One can hope.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 03/05/2019 16:43

I care about women's prisons as a feminist whether I end up in one or not. No woman should have to share prisons with Paris Green types.

barelove · 03/05/2019 17:04

At the rate things are going we could all end up in prison for "crimes" such as calling a male person a "he" or even just thinking it.

This. Or stickering or wearing t shirts stating biological facts.

I was being humorous with my joke to nauticant about 'not ending up in one' but I was thinking exactly this. It's actually not at all funny.

AudacityOfHope · 03/05/2019 17:11

Not far from Dundee, the thing that NEVER happens.

https:www.scotsman.com/news-2-15012/female-spaces-need-better-protection-after-trans-woman-sex-assault-on-girl-say-campaigners-1-4868945

I'm not ashamed to want to be sure that women and girls can be safe in what should be private spaces. I would be ashamed if I didn't come down on the side of women, but on the side of men who pretend to be women to access our spaces, because they have managed to manipulate the culture in order for it to be deemed unacceptable to question them or try to stop them in any way.

MenuPlant · 03/05/2019 17:14

If the women's are open to all why do they need a sign at all? Just toilet will do. Same for the gents. U

MenuPlant · 03/05/2019 17:17

Oh misread

They are open to all women not everyone

Of course in practice they are open to anyone

BeansandRice · 03/05/2019 17:17

so one women only toilet was one too many

Well y’know, there’s quite a bit of research (proper academic peer-reviewed research, not feelz) which concludes that many men find that more than one woman on a committee , or in a meeting, or on a television programme, or in the Cabinet - more than one woman means that such events are dominated by women and thus unfair to men.

Many men clearly failed early lessons in arithmetic.

FuzzyLilac · 03/05/2019 17:17

So before i left was banned from twitter these things were pointed out to me as transphobic:

Female only spaces such as:
Toilets
Changingrooms
Rape centres
Womens shelters
Hospital wards
Sports
Prisons
Gym/swim/sauna sessions
Womens intimate beauty services

Period products.
Lesbians.
Speaking about female anatomy.
The word woman & female if TW are not included in the definition of those words.
Pregnancy including pre and post natal.
Female only health issues including cervical cancer.

All things male related that are transphobic:

.
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
.
Hmm

terryleather · 03/05/2019 17:43

How totally unsurprising Fuzzy.

If we females aren't busying ourselves centering the ma'ams while apologising for our very existence, then what bloody use are we???

Michelleoftheresistance · 03/05/2019 17:55

If that (correctly representing current law supporting women) is transphobic, then the opposite of being transphobic is now agreed as someone being misogynistic and acting illegally.

Not exactly 'right on' really, is it? But ok. You can be for women having rights and in line with the law of the UK, or you can be transphobic. Fine.

Michelleoftheresistance · 03/05/2019 17:56

Fuzzy I want that on a t shirt.

Male Supremacist Movement. With blue hair disguise.

FuzzyLilac · 03/05/2019 18:13

It would need to be a very long t shirt 😂🤣😂

I am laughing but in truth it is very worrying. Females existing appears to be transphobic unless males are mentioned/catered for/bowed to.

Trans identity MUST be celebrated, worshiped and centred above all else while female identity is vile, not inclusive, racist, phobic and worthy of abuse and violence.

Michelleoftheresistance · 03/05/2019 18:16

Yup. It's not equality. It's supremacism involving the actual, open downgrading of women. With threats and menaces to women refusing to go nicely. You can be a good girl 'ally' or you can be raped and murdered and throat punched and all the lovely other loving, inclusive, intersectional lines this movement love to throw about.

Male supremacism. Fuck That.

Michelleoftheresistance · 03/05/2019 18:17

(And I could hack the big t shirt Fuzzy , I'm a big girl Grin )

FuzzyLilac · 03/05/2019 18:28

Ha ha ha michelle i could also rock the huge t Grin

Strangely its not the violence i find scares me the most.
As a female i have spent a large chunk of my life avoiding being groomed, raped, beaten, murdered and heard all manner of threats for non compliance to the male will.

Whats really scary is they will go for your job. Your income. Your ability to provide for yourself and family. They will try so hard and spend money to get you a criminal conviction, to smear your name and make you a social pariah.
That shit is next level.

BeansandRice · 03/05/2019 19:01

Yep, FuzzyLilac

And for me, the other thing that makes me really furious -almost to the point of not being able to speak - is the attempt to claim the right to redefine the fundamental meaning of what it is to be a woman.

They want our very existence on every level.

But then patriarchy has never seen women as fully human.

So who cares ( I get bitter at this point and start to “identify “ with Valerie Solanas).
