What can I do?

I'm pissed off, again. I am sick and tired of men telling us what we can say and what we can do.

I've just read a newspaper article about a paedophile local to me who had 285 cat A photos and thousands of cat b and c. He got a suspended sentence.

Yet, courts are still sending single parents to prison for not being able to pay their tv licence.

Seriously???

I don't understand your argument about men telling us what we can and can't say? Maybe if have missed something in your post?
I do agree our justice system is fucked up and changes need to be made. That is disgusting

Genderfreelass · 02/05/2019 21:07

Agree with Cheryl Shaw the justice system is disgustingly mysoginist and tends to protect vile preps rather than victims, especially if the victims are women and girls. However what had that got to do with men telling us what to think?

Agree with your frustration OP. Very disappointing when perps like that get away with no jail time. What can you do? Good question... maybe write to your MP?

TopBitch I think you may be local to me. Is it the guy whose wife took him back after he was caught last time and he still lives with her and their daughter? If so, there’s a lot of anger locally about this case and I can’t see them staying for long. I can’t believe he didn’t go to prison, just a suspended sentence and a course to help him not be a paedophile.

I think there should be automatic custodial sentences for anyone found in possession of images of child abuse.

Very frustrating, but plenty of paedophiles do get locked away, every day - there's so many of them.
So taking one example of one getting away with it, and comparing it to single parent's being sent to prison isn't really fair.
For a start, you can't be sent to prison for non-payment of TV licence, but it can be used as a last resort for non-payment of fines, but how often does that really happen? I'm sure it happens, but I'm sure more paedophiles get locked away than get suspended sentences.
