Rape crisis centre - staff trained to “ask the cis guest to leave”

I know most trans are perfectly nice people just living their lives, who need the same services as everyone.

Re rape crisis centres, I think a way to balance everyone’s needs would be dedicated facilities for transwomen.

Remember, a TW may choose to:

  • have zero hormonal or surgical treatment, hence retain their pre-transition physiology and facial hair
  • dress like a man (see “trans butch lesbian)

In other words, it may be impossible to discern their gender identity visually (the training covers this).

Also, Self-ID would mean that transition requires only a stat dec. We know men will abuse this, anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a privilege bubble.

"Cis female guest" aka rape victim.

They know rape victims will be traumatised by coming across men in a Rape Crisis centre yet their solution is to kick the rape victims out in order to validate a man's feelings. It's unbelievable.

Erythronium · 01/05/2019 21:40

They want to allow the weapon used in every rape - the penis - into a place where women go to heal from rape. I'm so disgusted.

ZebrasAreBras · 01/05/2019 21:40

..and didn't want to be 'included' (many groups tried) but intended to take over, be centred, dictate what happened and what everyone else could talk about

Oh yes - this is exactly it.

Male socialisation = males (even those who "identify" as women) have to front and centre of everything.

The tantrums on twitter, and in real life, if you don't use the language you're meant to, the pronouns, if you don't accept that they are the most oppressed, the most stunning, the most brave...the calling the police... the dragging people into court. ...

"It's Ma'am !!!"

Michelleoftheresistance · 01/05/2019 21:46

This is justified in the ideology by privilege - that biological women should leap to centre and stand aside for transwomen because of the privilege they owe. Essentially if you were born with a vagina your place is as the serving class and God help you if you don't know your place.

There is no difficulty at all in knowing exactly what a woman is and who they are when it comes to who gets abused/who has to do what they're told or else.

Michelleoftheresistance · 01/05/2019 21:50

There is plenty on Twitter about women keeping quiet and letting TW do the talking, must not speak over TW, literally knowing their place. (And just look at the punishment given to a woman 'ally' if they put a foot wrong.)

It goes along with the bullshit that a TW can speak for and represent women, but a woman may never represent a TW because they do not share the experience or reality.

Erythronium · 01/05/2019 21:54

What are they going to do about women who've been raped by transwomen? Insist the victim calls them "she"?

InionEile · 01/05/2019 22:07

For the love of god, can we all just agree to fund trans refuges as a third space and be done with it? I can't see in whose interest it would be to allow male-bodied, male-presenting trans women into a female safe space, except for people with nefarious / misogynist intentions or the alt-right who want to set feminists up against trans rights activists and watch the Left consume itself.

Let Stonewall and Mermaids fund trans refuges if the crisis of domestic violence is as serious among trans people as they say it is. That's what feminists had to do: campaign for decades, collecting pennies, setting up Women's Aid and doing grass roots organising. TRAs shouldn't be allowed to waltz in and take away resources from vulnerable women like this.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/05/2019 22:08

That has already happened.
I am so angry reading that welsh women’s aid crap. I am honestly dumbfounded that this is where we are now. And as for that person ( who I am blocked by, in spite of never having heard of them) advising the government...I have no words.

MrsSnippyPants · 02/05/2019 08:55

Well Erythronium, we have already seen the victim of an assault by a male, being forced, by the judge, to call her male attacker 'she'.

ZebrasAreBras · 02/05/2019 11:06

For the love of god, can we all just agree to fund trans refuges as a third space and be done with it?

I would be totally up for that. I would donate. Stonewall has £millions - they could easily provide some funding.

Problem is - they don't want that. They want to be in with the women - and to suggest a third space apparently makes you as bad as racists who opposed the US civil rights movement in the 60s Hmm I speak from bitter experience on Twitter - because of course it's totally the same.

Women are being gaslighted into distrusting their own eyes. Even while recovering from sexual assault! It’s bad enough seeing it online.. no one is chanting “Transmen are men!”

Ugh. Just tagging on to OP - so let me get this right

There’s a Women’s Refuge - a place of safety for women from male violence- physical and/or sexual.

There’s a woman client/resident who has a traumatic response to the presence of a transwoman client/resident. Because of experiences with male-bodied persons.

But ALL the concern and care goes into making sure that the transwoman is not upset?

Alice Through the Looking Glass, here we go!

2BthatUnnoticed · 02/05/2019 14:06

Yep that’s it Sad And any person, regardless of how they present, can ID as a trans woman.

I replied to a post on Facebook about this and got deleted for hate speech. Shock I said women don't have penises, I don't believe you can change sex, so therefore I don't believe trans women are women. I said it was gaslighting to a woman going through trauma, especially if they've been raped.

I've name changed here btw.

YouJustDoYou · 03/05/2019 15:13

We are not allowed to have an opinion that is against accepted consensus. We will get hounded and sued, as per recently, if we dare to go against these ex-males. We are not allowed to be scared of them. We must suffocate our feelings of fear after being sexually abused, so that the ex-males feelings don't get offended. We must stay silent. Unless we absolutely support them. They are louder than us, stronger than us, faster than us, taller than us. And we must only stay small and quiet and obliging, with no thoughts contrary to what they accept.
