Excuse me if this has been covered already.
link article in the Observer (surprise!) covers what she sees as the future for the party, but never once mentions trans issues. Does anyone else find this a bit odd?
Are we supposed to be so excited that she's not White and Middle Class that we forget the whole trans thing.
And why didn't the journalist ask about it. Sorry, no, I forgot, it's the Observer.

I have to be careful what I say so as not to be too outing of my ID, but all of the FtM trans people I have met over the last 3 years have been either people who have been diagnosed with autistic spectrum conditions or ADAD and / or severe ongoing mental health problems.

Also a significant number (albeit a minority) of these FtM trans identifying people have been involved in extremely dangerous and exploitative neo-pagan and new age cults.

I am talking about cults that promote sex work and BDSM as therapeutic modalities.

Whatever our disagreements on other issues, hopefully we can agree that promoting sex work as sacred and / or psychotherapy and promoting any kind of sexual contact and / or BDSM as psychotherapy is dangerous and abusive

I do not consider these people to be my adversary any more than I consider some well-meaning brainwashed person in a cult to be my enemy. I generally reserve my battles for the brainwashers, not the brainwashed.

I so much agree. It's the ideology I oppose, not the people (apart from the ghastly MRA/TRA types). I think I'd be right in saying that most of us feel the same. It's something that's often come up here, as you can imagine.

The damage being done by this ideology to young lesbians is heart-rending.

One of the WEP's transwomen was mentioned in Andrew Gilligan's Times article on police training by transwomen with a history of violence or inflammatory speech. Gilligan said that Cheryl Morgan described gender critical women as an "infestation", among other things.

Morgan is a Stonewall member and ....

• trains Avon and Somerset police officers,
• runs the WEP's Bath branch
• ran a workshop at the WEP Conference on

"Transgender Myth-Busting".

I wonder if the new leader of WEP had the benefit of the workshop and agrees that XX women are an infestation?

Just saw this in Twitter, Monica Lennon MSP on improving women's representation - as the person who posted it pointed out, it means nothing if it's to help white middle class women.
