Isn’t it odd that sex was never so complicated before? There was nothing ethereal about biology when it came to allocating the right to vote, or own property, or walk down the street at night without fear. We knew perfectly well what made someone female when that female-ness guaranteed a life of subservience and pain. Only when women began to say no did their bodies become a concept.

Would add to that - when it came to needing offspring for inheritance, gene propogation etc.; there was also no "confusion" about who was female.

I agree it’s a whole other ballgame not debating established facts (like ‘humans only come in two sexes determined at conception’) vs not debating political beliefs or feelz (like ‘everyone else has to accept that I am whatever I say I am, whatever the personal cost to themselves*)

Everyone can draw their personal line on what’s up for debate.. but actually if in general we all started debating with flat-earthers about whether we live on a globe or not, every time they reasserted that the horizon looks very flat to them.. what would it add- and at what point would it start to make crackpot theories start to look equally weighted to objective facts?
