"Last Days of August" Jon Ronson on audible

Has anyone listened to it? I've just started episode 4, but episode 3 made me feel sick and want to weep. The idea that this young woman "wanted" to be a porn actress, but was so incredibly fucked up by her childhood she was in reality a victim of the idea of industry and the people in it. Next time anyone tells me how great the porn world is for women, they can listen to those 30 minutes before I speak to them again.

I have this on my Audible app. It's horrendous to listen to in parts but is quite illuminating about the destruction caused by this 'industry '. I also reccomend The Butterfly Effect also by Robson about the history of online open. Real eye opener but very depressing . I think I will listen again to both.

I listened to The Butterfly Effect too. It was a grim listen but maybe because it's one woman's story, Last Days has hit me harder. I'll go back and relisten to the other when I'm finished this.

It makes sense that this is what the industry is like, if you think about it. But hearing about it like this.... Pretty depressing.
