Guardian article. Someone has it in for MSPs who have concerns about Nicola Sturgeon’s stance on self-ID.

Good to know the concerns are definitely there I guess but, seriously, there is a question over whether they have been clearly communicated with leadership of SNP? C’mon MSPs.

Good. I was just reading on twitter “Changing room policy in Glasgow's Culture & Sport venues, trans people can
"use changing rooms of their chosen gender
– no matter if they look as if they are of the opposite sex"

Sod that for a game.

"I was just reading on twitter “Changing room policy in Glasgow's Culture & Sport venues, trans people can
"use changing rooms of their chosen gender

Which simply means that any man can enter those changing rooms. ANY man at all, safe in the knowledge he can never be challenged or asked to leave.

Women are being driven out.

The absolute fucking state of Scotland on this...I'm ashamed of my own country and now my home city has given its female population a good hard boot in the fud because they're to stupidly woke to see what's really going on.

What a shower of shite! Angry

theOtherPamAyres · 17/04/2019 19:50

I thought that the person claiming responsibility is the boyfriend of a male MSP?

In other words, the masons of gay brotherhood and men's rights were behind it.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/04/2019 19:59

I thought that the person claiming responsibility is the boyfriend of a male MSP

Thats the person who posted it on Twitter. I believe they are claiming it was not them who acquired the original screenshots

AnyOldPrion · 17/04/2019 20:12

What happens next is the interesting part. It has amazed me that despite Joan McAlpine speaking out, there has been no official party statement or reprimand. I’m guessing this may bringthe situation to a head.

theOtherPamAyres · 17/04/2019 21:54

A pompous bloke, who is very important and holds some sort of portfolio for Equality in the Scottish Parliament, has demanded that the women MSPs explain themselves to him, personally.

Twitter has served up his arse on a plate

If this is actually the policy of Glasgow’s culture and sport venues, as described above, how can women possibly still use them?

Why are women in Glasgow not in the street with banners, protesting their exclusion from these venues, that are funded by the taxpayer and supposedly for all? ( I have never been to Glasgow, admittedly, being at the other end of the country, but have always been led to believe the people there are not frightened to stand up for themselves.)

And on a separate note, if female MSPs’ messages have been leaked, and Nicola S doesn’t immediately launch an investigation, how can she possibly continue as leader of a country which purports to be governed by the rule of law? I mean, is this not a massive legal issue?

andyoldlabour · 17/04/2019 22:24

After reading that I am quite glad I voted Brexit, because Labour, Lib Dems, SNP, Greens have no idea what is right, they have no morals.

OccasionalKite · 17/04/2019 22:46

andyoldlabour
Is the mattter of (thread title) Female MSPs' leaked messages a Brexit matter, at all, in any way, whatsoever? Why bring it up?

littlbrowndog · 17/04/2019 22:54

My country. Scotland.

Now it’s becomin* lik3 Canada. Fuck that

littlbrowndog · 17/04/2019 22:57

So is it true tha5 any man in Scotland can now enter a girls or woman’s changing room and we can’t say anything ?

Can somebody link this to where it says that ?

GirlDownUnder · 18/04/2019 00:04

Which simply means that any man can enter those changing rooms. ANY man at all, safe in the knowledge he can never be challenged or asked to leave.

And the 'any man' who does use this will be the ones we need the most protection from Sad

OccasionalKite · 18/04/2019 00:20

Yes: it is a free charter for any and all male abusers of women and girls. Why are political parties so unable to understand women's rights?

GirlDownUnder · 18/04/2019 00:43

What baffles me more is why trans people aren't up in arms about this loophole. The optics aren't good.

It's not trans people that are the issue, it's the degenerate people who will use the shield of the trans umbrella to mitigate sentencing, or access vulnerable women and children.

Don't want to be painted with the same brush? Then don't be a brush stroke in someone else's painting.

Have to say, that MSP made himself look like a right dick there. Interesting that only one trans person made a comment - about Satan - the rest are all voters people saying "yeah, mate, no".

He's a Lib Dem.

They don't want my vote, they told me so.

So, at least we're on the same page with that. I'm not voting for a misognynist.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 18/04/2019 09:20

Is everyone OK at the Guardian? That article pretty much reflected reality. Shome mishtake shurely?

In the same month, a highly critical report on proposed changes to Scotland’s census – such as adding a third non-binary alternative to the male/female sex question – found a serious lack of consultation with women’s groups had led to the publication of legislation that was “not fit for purpose” and conflated sex and gender identity

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/04/2019 20:00

Maybe they like Scots less than t.
