Thought it might be useful to separate this from the John Boyne thread right now, as it's a slightly different subject.

James - he's challenging the stereotypes of who loves make-up, who does what. Many tweens and teenagers will be following James.

James loves make-up, crashing stereotypes of what 'men' are.

James discusses in his latest youtube video on who he thinks are hot.

He's brave enough to discuss his sexuality on that video, and the old-fashioned Kinsey scale.

As you'll see from the Twitter thread linked above, James's comments in his YouTube video have caused ructions. Even James should never, ever, go there to suggest sex is a thing!

While it's clear James didn't make the comment with hateful intent, the fact that he seemed to put cisgender women and trans men in the same category is incredibly harmful. His wording implies that transgender men are not fully men, which is not only incorrect, it's also a very dangerous stereotype to promote. Trans men are men. Period.

This is getting tiring.

I am not of that You Tube generation but I am familiar with James Charles.

I think when TRAs start going after gay men for having “genital preferences” they will quickly want to undo what they have just done when they realize that in terms of the woke they went a step too far.

Society, media, and the woke don’t want to listen to women and lesbians (sad to say), but gay men are, well, men, and have a lot more power and “allies” in media and popular culture.

There are also still enough people around who remember these homophobic attitudes of “men should just sleep with women” meant little was being done to figure out why thousands of gay men were suddenly dying.

I think even among the woke crowd, if they have to turn on their gay male best friends forever to support trans ideology...it will be just one “ask” too far.

It will also not be too hard for straight men - who have even more power than gay men - to realize they are next.

TRAs starting to treat gay men the same as they treat lesbians might well be the end of all this rubbish. I thought they would stay away from this as surely they know, but it seems some are daft enough to go down that route. Same as they know sunlight is bad for their 'cause' yet for some reason cannot stop themselves going to the media..Harrop style, and gaining it all more attention!

From that article:- another person tweeted: ‘James Charles if your (sic) a attracted to a man who has a vagina, it doesn’t make you straight.’

Some people thanked Charles for his apology, but for others, the apology didn’t go far enough.

One person replied: ‘you said that being attracted to trans men makes you less gay. this tweet does NOT cover what you said even slightly. you fully implied that trans men are not real men. you can spout “you’re valid” bullshit all you want but that is NOT why people are mad at you.’

AKA: James, despite being part of the LGBT, he's not doing enough in the T in the LGBt - so the message from the 'T' seems to be:

Where has this idea come from that we are all required to 'validate' other people? Nobody is actually duty bound to validate another person particularly if what they see/think is at odds with that validation.

It is sad he is being attacked he seems like a lovely GNC young man who is trying to toe the line. As ever, it never seems to be sufficient.

The despicable 'cotton ceiling' was one of the things which first alerted me to the problems with ;gender ideology' and I see more and more gay men being targeted too now. We all have to stand up against this kind of bullying, it is rolling back everything LGB originally fought so hard for.

It's a very thin veneer which is easily cracked, and this is what happened here. A bit of over confidence and joking around and oops, you've said something wrong which will tarnish your reputation forever.

It must be absolutely exhausting for everyone on social media to keep it up.
