Frankenstein Designer Kids

My DH just showed me this:

www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/04/14/frankenstein-designer-kids-what-you-dont-know-about-gender-transitioning-will-blow-your-mind.html

" Puberty-blocking drugs, mastectomies, vaginal surgery and fake penises – all with zero chance of reversal – these are just some of the radical experimental methods being used on children. The madness must stop."

"Imagine that you are the parent of a five-year-old boy who innocently informs you one day that he is a girl. Of course, the natural reaction would be to laugh, not phone up the nearest gender transitioning clinic. You have no idea how your little boy came to believe such a thing; possibly it was through something he heard at the daycare center, or maybe a program he saw on television. In any case, he insists that he ‘identifies’ as a female..."

Pulls no punches

Dr. Laidlaw presented perhaps the best case against parents and their children rushing to the conclusion that their children need puberty blockers, for example, or extreme doses of hormones, when he discussed what happens when a person is diagnosed with cancer.

“If a child or somebody you knew had cancer, would you want pathology results, would you want imaging to prove [the condition] before you give harmful chemotherapeutics,” he asked. Yet we are allowing children and adolescents to undergo irreversible chemical and surgical procedures without being able to see any evidence that shows the presence of ‘the opposite sex’ in the patient.

Sadly, I think it is only when the poor mutilated kids grow up, wish to detransition, and bring a massive class action lawsuit against the “professionals” who have inflicted this nightmare of sterilisation on them, that anything will halt this transgender juggernaut.
By which time, thousands more will be irreparably damaged.

I still wince at how near we came to letting DD go through fairly serious surgery as a youngster for entirely different reasons.

The first consultant was adamant that this would be best practice and her only real chance of full use of that part of her body. A second consultant (who we saw by chance) disagreed strongly, said she didn't meet the criteria for intervention and the surgery could well do more harm than good. He had stats, and long-term evidence of outcomes.

The first consultant was well-meaning. The second one was right. Surely gender-questioning children also deserve more than one suggested route.

(DD was surprisingly resistant to the change of plan, which was interesting -- having psyched herself up to 'life-changing painful inconvenient surgery' as an idea, the more mundane 'physio, and wait two years' perhaps didn't have the same kudos.)

I couldn't read the article as I found the headline so awful. There is a difference between pulling no punches and attacking trans kids and their parents. Sorry I dont think this article is helpful and would like it removed.

FleetsumNJetsum · 15/04/2019 11:59

Yes, Babdoc, I worry this may be the case. But partly this is being allowed to happen because the general public have no idea about it. I have a friend I do not see very often, and we have been talking briefly about these issues. He simply did not believe me when we came to discussing the transing of children. I sent him the Times article, and his email response was in the "whoah...but probably not true..." vein.

Thingybob, you admit you have not read the article.

It is not cruel, or attacking.

Sorry I dont think this article is helpful and would like it removed

Read the article. It might help some people to see what is happening.

Facts and truthful language that hasnt been sugar coated is not attacking trans kids or their parents

Its necessary in order for people to realise just what it is they are doing. Or what they are being pushed into doing.

Phrases like top surgery, puberty blockers etc hide the severity or the reality about the situation.

And honestly if you cant say it, talk about it , then should you really be doing it?

I agree - we need straightforward language - children are being mutilated by this cult.

zen1 · 16/04/2019 18:16

Yes, and referring to the taking of artificial hormones as ‘hormone replacement therapy’ implies that there is something which is biologically lacking, which is very misleading.

IM0GEN · 16/04/2019 18:25

Thingybob - don’t you think that children who identify as trans and their parents deserve to know the medical facts ? It’s called informed consent.

FeministCat · 16/04/2019 20:08

Thingy bob

Before you say an article is “attacking” and not helpful and advocating for censorship, perhaps you should at least read the article.

Frankenstein is the creator, not the creature, and I think the title is apt.

Frankenstein defies nature, plunges ahead without considering the consequences, then rejects his creation in horror because it is less than perfect.

The creature is intelligent, articulate, and doomed to a loneliness through no fault of its own. It has every right to be angry.
