TRAs and and anti establishment

A lot of the TRAs (and please note I am talking TRAs here, not confused kids being pushed to transition and people with Gender Dysphoria) seem to revel in doing the forbidden. They, like Jess Bradly, enjoy pushing boundaries and getting away with things. The pushing for law change is their saying "I can do what I like and not only can you not stop me but I will make the whole world afraid to challenge me". They are trying to be the oppressed minority (funnily enough it was Greenday's song I Want To Be A Minority that led me to this thought!)

I'm not explaining what I mean very well but the point I'm trying to make is will the thrill go if the law changes come in? If it's mainstream is it still fun? Some will stay of course but by making transgenderism legitimate and screwing over women will the majority fade away and look for another fad?

Anyone?

Yes I think you're spot on. They will keep pushing, they will deliberately violate boundaries, they will push until it becomes untenable for most people and there will be conflict. People with these type of personality issues can never be satisfied because it's about power.

I think some of the hangers on may grow out of it, but the trans ideologists driving the movement are skilled manipulators and propagandists so they will keep the victimhood narrative going and some people will keep buying it as they do now.

They remind me of the 'Anarchists' at university, who were perfectly willing to use laws and regulations to squash objectors and to get what they wanted.

Ereshkigal · 15/04/2019 19:31

A lot of transactivists also identify as anarchists.

JellySlice · 15/04/2019 19:32

Yeeees...well...

Remind me of some of the drama queens I’ve worked with.

Every bloody day, loudly arriving (usually late for more dramatic effect) in the office after having a most tragic or dramatic journey in - either hysterical st some trauma, or squealing about seeing some random bloke and it’s love at first sight. Then spending the rest of the day sighing loudly until someone asks ‘what’s wrong?’.

I swear to god I strained my eyeballs at one place I worked.

Queer theory is all about transgressing boundaries.

Sheila Jeffreys' Unpacking Queer Theory is available as a free download here:

I found it extremely useful for getting a handle on what's going on. I think if they succeed in their current demands then they'll seek new boundaries to transgress.

I've heard the kindle version doesn't work very well but the PDF should work fine.

Wasn’t Ian ‘Class War’ Bone part of the group who called the bizzies to protect them from middle aged women after the Tara Wolf case?

That's the one always
Really funny

Second this and yes, I agree. It's the acts of transgression that provide a thrill, a cause to rally to, and power.

Victoriapestis01 · 15/04/2019 23:40

Once it is mainstream the thrill will be, not in transgressing boundaries, but in enforcing them. There will always be uppity women, who will need to be kept in line with a good crack of the whip wielded by an elegant (if somewhat hairy) lady like hand.

People like power, and subordinating others, and all the signs are that TRAs particularly like these things, and get a kick out of them. If they get their way, they will enjoy keeping us in line. The thrill of the authoritarian.

I think you may well be right. Sad
