These idiots need to stop digging. I can't even read the whole article, although might revisit it eventually. Of course transracialism and transgenderism are similar! Both entail people claiming to be something they are not, and appropriating the experiences of another marginalised group as their own. The beliefs/behaviours that justify "trans" feelings or "living as" something you cannot possibly be rest mainly on harmful stereotypes about the sexes (aka sexism) or different ethnicities (aka racism).

I think the difference is that transracialism offends many men, deeply, so is considered morally wrong. Transgenderism is mainly harmful to women. It really doesn't seem to negatively impact men! So that's alright then, I guess? The sexism is absolutely breathtaking, when you see it laid out.

You cannot choose or change your sex or your ethnicity. Sex is binary. There is no third sex. Natural skin pigmentation is far more variable/complex.

If the TRA argument is that sex is a spectrum (it isn't), therefore transgenderism is valid, then surely what we call race is actually on a far more complicated spectrum, so TRAs should therefore believe transracialism is valid?

IMO, both ideas of "transness" are equally offensive to the groups whose material existence is reduced to an internal feeling in another person's head, whose identities are being colonised, and whose oppression is being considered a "lifestyle choice."

I’ve been fascinated by the debates over “Genderfree” in similar bemusement. They berate others for adopting what they see as a false identity. Yet anyone with even a trace of common sense/honesty should concede that pretending male sex doesn’t exist is the most blatant example of privilege perversion bingo in the world.

I find the lack of awareness really strange. How can you write something like that and not see the problem?

No, it harms women, but I guess women are not classed as people so it doesn't count eh? If it was just about 'transitioning' there would be no issue. I do not care what someone wants to wear or how many surgeries they want. But its NOT just about that at all. As everyone here knows, and as the author knows really.
