Just heard this. I'm beyond furious.

Just going through that article by JCJ posted earlier in the thread.

but McKinnon was returned to Twitter after a tirade of mysognistic bile, coincidentally (?) around the same time Linda Riley (the lesbian feminist who runs a magazine for lesbians and claims to advocate for women) said that she had contacts at Twitter and would see what she could do.

Makes me so angry! She has demonstrated so much integrity, insight, humor, solid feminist grounding, and badassery. Reading her and watching her interact has taught many of us some of the finer points of effective argument and diplomacy. I will miss her.

Twitter can go and take a jump, it's crap anyway and JCJ was one of the few reasons I stuck around.

Perhaps Twitter could be useful as kind of internet flypaper.

It is indeed the toilet of the Internet and it’s not good for my mental health. The level of ignorance on there re this debate is quite frightening and as the saying goes, you can’t argue with stupid.

It’s only been 3 days and I feel so much better.

All respect to JCJ, and I shall relish any links to particularly devastatingly good threads on an unroll link, but I'm done. I support the brave amazons who have chosen to stay and keep battling, but for the sake of my inner equilibrium and as my own small contribution to lessening the influence of the fucking hole in the ground that Twitter is, I'm not going back.

I think we all know the real mission is the face to face and elsewhere. Twitter's place in our culture is going to be fleeting in the grand scheme, and I am happy to hasten it's demise.
