Who knows? They haven't said what they would do with the personal data. They have just got a court order for it.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/04/2019 15:22

I'm actually beginning to think that MN should have contested it - I don't really think that releasing private details to a private individual is really on. Fair enough to release to an actual legal bod who has codes and things they have to abide by, but to release personal details to an individual with a history of aggression and who currently posts about women with open aggression would seen to be a little reckless.

Ereshkigal · 11/04/2019 15:29

It isn't on. One of the commenters in the Roll in Friday piece about this linked yesterday made this point.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/04/2019 15:40

So what’s the latest?

Whereareyouspot · 11/04/2019 15:47

Have @mumsnet actually released the info though? Wow that’s really worrying if they have. Given SH hasn’t made it clear what they intend to use it for.

GirlDownUnder · 11/04/2019 16:04

Well, deadlines is now past..... did I miss the 'handover' of data 😬

JessicaWakefieldSV · 11/04/2019 16:13

Rtft the user didn’t want it contested because MN don’t have their actual details

Datun · 11/04/2019 16:15

The poster said the information was just a generic email address.

That's all you need to sign up. There is no 'false information' to be addressed.

You're not asked for anything else. Only if you volunteer it on your public profile. Which doesn't need a court order.

There is no name, address, date of birth, etc.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/04/2019 16:17

But I assume they complainant knew it suspected this and already have their next move worked out.

Ereshkigal · 11/04/2019 16:20

Good point Datun.

Datun · 11/04/2019 16:26

But I assume they complainant knew it suspected this and already have their next move worked out.

To intimidate, I imagine.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/04/2019 16:35

Of course, why else? To make a point.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/04/2019 16:38

I believe they were going to sue Mumsnet for not passing on the correct details and get their "website operating license" withdrawn.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/04/2019 16:38

🙄

nauticant · 11/04/2019 16:42

Their next move was to wave a piece of paper around on social media and get statements including the words "Mumsnet" and "transphobia" into the more general media.

However, they didn't count on doing a Streisand and getting the most publicity for the statement in The Times that “I have no current criminal convictions.”

Datun · 11/04/2019 16:42

The poster couldn't care less if Hayden has their details. They said so. So HQ gave them. An email address. Unidentifying, and not 'false'.

So no one, anywhere, seems to care, at all.

DancingRaven · 11/04/2019 16:57

Linda Riley will be most upset

GirlDownUnder · 11/04/2019 17:00

It's not like Linda's waiting...

There’s always a silver lining...I now at least have a decent anonymous email account registered with MN. I had SUCH fun choosing my username!!

Breaking news....

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6912343/Transgender-activist-vows-sue-Mumsnet-founder-site-ignores-High-Court-order.html

EXCLUSIVE: Transgender activist vows to sue Mumsnet founder after site ignores High Court order to unmask troll who posted defamatory comment accusing her of 'serious criminality'

Stephanie Hayden will take Mumsnet back to court after they failed to comply with a court order

The High Court gave Mumsnet until 4pm today to name the troll who allegedly defamed Ms Hayden by accusing her of 'serious criminality'
But after they had failed to do so Ms Hayden said she will take them back to court and demand a 'mandatory injunction' against Mumsnet and its boss

It could find the company and founder Justine Roberts in contempt of court unless they comply

The game is on then. The bbc report was a bit biased I thought and not totally accurate fact wise.

Datun · 11/04/2019 17:17

It's probably in Haydens' inbox. Mumsnet have nothing to gain by not giving the info. It's probably en route. An oversight.

Unless they are making a stand. In which case, that could be interesting.

But I doubt it. It's a tedious waste of time.

Bluestitch · 11/04/2019 17:18

Hayden apparently doesn't support self ID according to that article. Confused

chaosisaladder · 11/04/2019 17:18

This is utter madness. Utter, utter madness.
