VD seems to really push trans issues. Openly trans rapper was just on.

The statement: "I'm transitioning, so I'm male now".
Do you think they honestly believe this? Do they not understand that humans can't change sex?

I feel very sorry for them that they can't accept the body that they were born with.

Surely that would ultimately be the best thing to do in the long term?

It is like the website - constantly feeding clickbait feel good trans stories. Today's papers totally omits any discussion on the Times front page Hmm and they have put the picture next to the bottom.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-47848454 Hmm

Although the The Papers on BBC News Channel last night didn't www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000446t/the-papers-07042019

www.bbc.co.uk/diversity/strategy/lgbt-culture-and-progression LBGT is highly represented in the BBC, especially transgender. Maybe there are areas within the BBC where the representation is concentrated? Radio 4 Today seems to be another area.

Saw this. BBC doubling down in the face of the shit storm coming in the press.

Trans grime rapper, talks about being a lesbian and the horror at being called that and the bullying. Feeling wrong in a developing body. Trying to live 'as a girl' and going out with men until not being able to lie any more and coming out as 'trans'.

The BBC honestly thinks a response to a huge news story about homophobic people using trans as gay conversion therapy is to host a completely uncritical interview with someone who 'was' a lesbian, closeted themselves from fear and shame, until they discovered they were 'trans' and found happiness?

Oh my fucking God.

Whatisthisfuckery · 08/04/2019 10:58

Yes Floral, it’s as you wrote on another thread the other day, the BBC are just like, ‘yeah, and?’

Nobody noticed because Vic did her Special Sad Face.

Yes: the BBC does believe its viewers are that stupid.

FloralBunting · 08/04/2019 11:24

Viewers messages read out saying how very brave the trans grime rapper is. I am still reeling from the total lack of integrity from the journalists involved. I don't how Derbyshire can a) live with herself for this and b) justify this as a rational response. Fucking disgraceful.

ScienceIsTruth · 08/04/2019 11:43

Yeah, I'm amazed how often this issue is on tv or in the papers, and mostly without any balance, as well as being so obviously biased towards promoting trans issues.
I thought journalists, etc, had to give both sides and ast least try to act impartial.

The friends of my dd that have transitioned from ftm are no happier than they were before. They thought this would solve their problems but it hasn't.
In fact, now they have a mutilated body to deal with, issues from the drugs that they're on, as well as the constant worry of being seen as female.

Doesn't it rather reinforce the Times' point or have I actually gone mad?

Yes. It does. It provides a real time, topical example of the complicity of our state broadcaster with absolutely anti-gay, anti-woman, child grooming ideologues and it needs to be called exactly what it is. An hour later, a bus ride and I am still incandescently livid.
