Is the Guardian daring to dip a toe into suggesting that Stonewall 50 years a go had different priorities than it does now?

This is my favourite comment re: the protests in birmingham:

"Being kind and sympathetic to religious minorities should not extend to them attempting to impose their beliefs in a State school. There should be no negotiation on that point whatsoever with any religious group."

What? Minority group shouldn't impose unscientific beliefs onto the school curriculum? But... but...!

There's a real range of comments - too many of the 'but they haven't centred trans people - wah....' but a number of pertinent comments about the current anti-lesbian direction of Stonewall etc.

Yes quite a few critical ones got through. I wonder if the Observer mods take a different line on this? (If they are different at all...)
