WPUK meeting in London 20 May with Meghan Murphy, Julie Bindel, Selina Todd

Jessica, I can understand that. I went to Radfem101 and (oddly) there was no protest at all. Don't know why. I was all psyched up to walk past the protestors and I didn't need to worry!

Obviously that can't be guaranteed this time. But I would think that the organisers have paid close attention to the experience of running previous meetings (WPUK didn't run that one in Bristol but as it was all filmed they'll have seen it) and will have good security.

I don't know if it would help given you don't know me from Adam but I'd be happy to meet you and go together. (Just got my ticket! Put it on my calendar and realised I have a very early start the next day. Oh well. I'll cope.)

Thank you, that’s really kind of you. I’ll have a little think about it and talk to DH, he might come with us! I have just had tests of really high cortisol so I have to be careful not to stress myself too much!

JessicaWakefield - i was a bit worried about going to one (not WPUK) but as I was crashing at my brother's house he opted to come too

He was a little intrigued but initially came more out of solidarity. However, it blew his mind and he's been interested ever since (despite being one of only a handful of men and having to sit through a fairly graphic section on AGP..)

It's predictable that there will be attempts to disrupt this event, so let's hope the people running it have a plan.

Not wanting to get at anyone, but feminists shouldn't say "you don't know me from Adam". It should be Eve--I've heard a friend say that.

LambChops I’m so sorry to hear that you have lost some friends over this issue. I am sure you will find a great sense of comradeship with the people at the meeting.

This will be my third WPUK meeting, so excited! For anyone concerned about going, I have been very impressed with the organisation of the meetings, and the speakers have been outstanding.

Really excellent line up, looking forward to hearing who fourth speaker will be. Glad like other posters have said that I can actually make this one.

Going to book into a youth hostel so don't have to rush across London to catch last train and get home after midnight.
